The Gatti-Ward trilogy gets overrated. The first fight was a classic, the 2nd was a 10-0 shutout, and the 3rd fight featured Gatti winning 8 of the 10 rounds despite a broken hand. The only 2 rounds Ward won came when Gatti broke his hand, and a late KD when Gatti won the first 2:55 of the round. It was a pretty entertaining bout, but no way was it more deserving of Fight of the Year over Toney-Jirov and Gomez-Arthur.
A great trilogy should be more competitive. Gatti won 22 to 24 of the 30 rounds.
Barrera-Morales trilogy > Gatti-Ward trilogy
Saad-M. Johnson 1 > Saad-Lopez 2 > Gatti-Robinson 1 = Gatti-Ward 1
Gatti-Ward 1 > Ward-Augustus > Ward-Neary > Ward-Diaz > Ward-Green > Gatti-Ward 3
Are you a joke? Have you even seen any of the other guys? Obviously not if you just immediately babble "GATTI ! EZ"
Chacon made a living off fights as brutal and back and forth as Gatti/Ward I. He did it numerous times throughout his career. The Chacon/Limon 4 fight may just be the most brutal in history. Saad was the same and we all know how many great wars Morales was in. I think Saad, Chacon and Gatti are all equal with Morales coming in a very close second for pure comeback, back and forth, brawling entertainment value.
I hate it when people just spout Gatti without even knowing of the other guys. As great and exciting as Gatti was, the other guys equal him easily and surpass him depending on individual taste.
Micky Ward could also be included on the list. People forget it was as much Micky's doing that created such a great fight. He, like Gatti, has also had many, many FOTY, incredible wars.
Check out Saad/Lopez II or Saad/Johnson, Chacon/Limon 4 or Chacon/Edwards II for scary action.

All those guys are exciting (aside from Valuev) I am partial to Morales though because he is more from my time and he was so much more skillful with it than Gatti.
Chacon and Saad Muhammed both had many excellent scraps also so I couldn't fault anyone taking them.
lmao is this a joke ?
GATTI ! EZ

Matthew Saad Muhammad imo but I wouldn't argue with any picking Valuev.
Saad was awesome.
His fights with Johnson, Lopez (especially the rematch), Kates....insane.
The last round of the rematch with Marvin is one of my favorites ever.

GATTI ! EZ
I wouldn't say easy....Bobby Chacon was Gatti before Gatti but a better fighter.
Morales good gawd...
And, Saad Muhammad wasn't so shabby himself. Very exciting fighter at the higher weights.
It's a damn good question. I can't really pick out of those 3. So I will just go with Valuev. Seems like the obvious choice.
