This is a breakdown of some fighters that I think would've had the best chance to beat "Money May" in order:

1. Thomas "Hitman" Hearns- this guy is the absolute worst match up for Floyd. Tommy was an excellent all around boxer with tremendous reach and power. Hearns length, power, and overall boxing ability would be too much for Floyd. Hearns also possessed a lethal jab. Hearns threw his jab with the intent to do damage. I think Herans could KO Khan with a jab. I think Hearns stops Floyd. No way does Floyd fight him if he was still fighting today.

2. Sugar Ray Leonard- bigger, stronger, and faster than Floyd. SRL is the total package. Heart, skill, will, you name it he had it. SRL is too big, strong, and skilled for Floyd imo. However, I think Floyd gives Leonard a decent scrap due to his defense and ring IQ but I see Leonard winning a clear UD.

3. The late great Vernon Forrest (RIP)- he's the modern fighter that I think has the size and best skill set to beat Floyd. Vernon was a terrific all around boxer with tremendous length. His height and reach wouldn't allow Floyd to control distance. I think Forrest wins a close SD.

4. Roberto "Hands of Stone" Duran- Duran was relentless. This guy was about as tough and skilled as they come. Duran would've been on Floyd all night and he had a vicious body attack. He would make Floyd work the hardest. I think Duran wins by UD.
(Couldn't add another pic)
5. Sergio "Marvilla" Martinez- this guy is the only active fighter around Floyd's weight class that I would favor to beat Floyd. Sergio is an excellent athlete with underrated boxing skills. Sergio is big, fast, and powerful. I think he would have Floyd on the defensive and probably win a UD.
Prime Mosley would've KTFO outta Mayweather
Cotto and Margarito both beat the sh*outta him thats why he ducked both of them by retiring
Even Clottey at 147 would've probably beat his ass. The Clottey that fought Corrales would've definatly beaten Floyd.
And Floyd has no chance against Hearns or SRL. He probably outpoints Duran tho.
And Sweet Pea/Trinidad would beat the Popeyes outta Floyd.
Stop with this ****. He should of fought Cotto and Marg but he didnt but no way he would of loss
What about carmen basilo
Or
Macho camacho he was a slick fast left hand fighter with a lil pop might worry Floyd and possibly out work him you know before he got all carefull safety first like

You Forget hearns was fast too
Unlike Leonard/Pryor, Mayweather & Tszyu never got to the point of negotiations, so there is a difference, a BIG difference. Leonard/Pryor has no relation whatsoever to what i'm talking about.
But you can respond and pretend that a fighter getting called out in the media, makes no difference on a future potential fight being made.
Leonard/Pryor never did either. No matter what Legendary Nights says, they never got close to even considering that fight. Leonard was either at 154, retired or fighting names and fighters much greater and more worthy than Pryor. Everything about that fight regarding Leonard ducking or there even being any negotiation is complete rubbish.
The most that ever happened was that there was a brief, public offer of half a mil to Pryor for the fight, which from memory, was when Leonard was retired or around the time he was going to fight Hearns and Pryor's team turned it down straight away, even though it was ten times as much as he would have gotten in any other fight...even a 3rd with Arguello.
Just about everything regarding that fight is BS.
Vivian Harris would have smashed Floyd, I don't care what no one says. Floyd was smart to fight the "Vicious Victor" and not the Vicious Vivian!
haha I lol'ed when I read that. Mad funny:) I still remember when Vivian Harris got KO'ed by good old Carlos Maussa on the undercard of Mayweather vs Gatti haha.

When you call some one out in a post fight interview, there's really not much more you can do.
Calling some one out in some random show or some radio, is ridiculous. Mayweather calling out Tszyu in his post fight interview on HBO is a lot better than what Pryor did.
All that crap Pacquiao talks and supposedly agrees to in front of PI cameras, he's gonna have to back it up in ESPN, HBO, places that actually matter.
still having trouble with reality? floyd wanted no part of tszyu. he fought in 2 elminators just to force a fight with gatti. tszyu was waiting for an offer from floyd the whole time(look it up) but it never came. he didn't need any eliminators to fight tsyzu. so he fought corley, brusseles(top 10 in what universe?), and gatti instead of tsyzu. why fight the best when you can fight the rest? i believe that's floyd's motto. normal people call these tune ups but flomos call them career defining fights.
Whatever helps you sleep at night buddy!
First off, i said at that time i would have slightly favored floyd.
Second, daggum already answered most of this post. Floyd's entire time at 140 was spent trying to and getting gatti's belt. It was like he walked through Zoo's neighborhood where he was the king, smacked them up, stole their bikes and hauled ass before he got caught.
I didn't ask what daggum said. I asked you to tell me what fight did Floyd take instead of taking the Tszyu fight. Daggum says a lot of things, usually about Floyd or Calzaghe, he's a funny poster sometimes, but i'm asking you not him, Walter Matthysse.

Glad no one took this post seriously. :biggthump
I think Floyd is capable of beating anybody today in or around 147. As far as past fighters go, I think Hearns by far would have been the worst matchup. Vernon would have been tough as well for Floyd to beat. SRL would have beat him, I think he had just as much skill in the ring with better speed and power, not to mention tough as hell. If Castillo was able to give him problems I think Duran beats Floyd all day, everyday. I do however think Floyd had the ability to beat Tsyu. I'm really kind of shocked as to how many people kind of slight Duran. I believe he was the best lightweight of all time! And btw Floyd was better at lightweight than at his current weight, unbelievable really, had much better movement and threw more punches, just didn't have too many other fighters too really push him.
THANK YOU BURNER! ive beem trying to tell iron dan and jro that and they BOTH claim winky ducked floyd.
Winky didn't duck Mayweather per se.
I mean, the man fought Hopkins at 170 Lbs. I highly doubt he was afraird of Lil Floyd.
But, what he did do, was price himself out. Which he did on numerous occasions.
And whether the fight was serious or not, frankly, I don't care.
But, if anyone is to get the blame for that fight its Wright, not Mayweather.
here comes the idiot to mess up the thread.
I just find it funny you're trying to match him up with these past ATGs, when he has done everything to avoid fighting the only prime elite future ATG he's encountered in his career, who's smaller than him in size and by about ten to a dozen lbs in the ring.
I mean this guy, in his prime, went on vacation for a year when public outcry for the Pac fight was at a fever pitch, avoiding the biggest fight of all-time and a record payday. And then comes back to fight a former 140 lber with a crude style tailor made for him, who wasn't even top ten at 140, on the back of his wild victory at welter where he was knocked down twice.
He did the same thing when he retired the first time, when welterweight was the hottest division with Margarito, Cotto, Paul Williams and Mosley lighting it up. Then he came back to fight Marquez, a lightweight, and didn't even bother to make the catchweight to ensure he outweighed him by 15lbs or more.
There's a definate pattern there, and he knows what he's doing. Al Haymon was quoted as saying he studies and chooses his fighters opponents very carefully, and you can believe it.
If Mayweather doesn't fight Pac next, instead yet another 140 guy moving up like Khan or Guerrero, he'll be making a complete joke of his legacy. How anyone could compare him to the true ATGs who actually dared to fight the best of their time is beyond me.
 @ a guy that has Calzaghe in his avatar making a statement like this.
140-147, who was it that he didn't fight, that he was supposed to fight?
Mayweather has over a million loyal/die-hard fans, who swear he never avoided anyone and fought the very best, it would be pointless trying to argue that he ducked anyone, ..
The facts are though, at 140 he fought:
Corley
Bruseles
Gatti (who had Tszyu's stripped WBC title he'd held for 5 years)
Notable champs and respected fighters at 140 he didn't fight were:
Cotto (WBO champ - six defences)
Tszyu (Undisputed best in the division, unified champ)
Hatton (After he beat Tszyu and Mayweather beat Gatti that was the fight to decide the best, Mayweather only fought him 2 years later makinghim go up to 147)
And it was the same at 147, his list of opponents there:
Mitchell (moved up from 140)
Judah
Baldomir
Hatton (moved up from 140)
Marquez (moved up from 135)
Mosley
Ortiz (recently moved up from 140)
Notable champs and respected fighters at 147 he didn't fight:
Margarito (long time WBO champ - seven defences, won IBF, WBA belts)
Cotto (WBA champ - four defences, held WBO belt)
P.Williams (2-time WBO champ)
Pacquiao (WBO champ, P4P king)
Won't say anything other than I know which list of opponents I'd want on my resume if I was claiming to be an elite ATG, let alone the GOAT. You all know it too.
It would mean something if somebody were to erroneously imply that Harris & Spadafora were "ducking" or avoiding Floyd.
But once again, there were no negotiations between Mayweather & Tszyu for a potential fight, or even attempted negotiations. And Tszyu was semi-retired from 03-05, so it really DOESN'T make any difference.
tszyu was actively campaigning for hbo and showtime to come together or for one fighter to fight on the other network for a fee. what was mayweather doing to make the fight? nothing because oh he already had his eyes set on gatti and was busy fighting 2 eliminators to get a fight with a guy who wanted no part of him.
