I think we can all agree that he's a decent puncher. Not a big one, but a decent one. His power is respectable, especially because of his accuracy.
But what I dont get is how he's able to land so many clean shots on his opponents and their faces look exactly the same at the end of the fight...I mean I've seen feather fisted fighters do more damages to a fighter's face than he does. Why is that?
A couple of reasons. One, he doesn't go for the knockout with many of his shots. He has his speed because he sticks the shot out there and then pulls it back for defensive reasons. Because of that, he doesn't punch through his opponents.
Another reason is because, when you're someone that ALREADY takes a bit of power off the shot and you're not the biggest puncher to begin with, it's bound to have even less of an impact.
Most of his knockouts come from double impact or the speed that turns into power. Either a fighter is coming in and it's more of a counter shot or a clipping shot. The speed builds power and that can also get his opponent hurt. But he does all this for a reason.
He has brittle hands. That's something, I'm sure, he has on his mind when he commits to or turns over a shot. Which is perhaps one of his only PHYSICAL weaknesses.
Floyd has enough power to make you stop, but unless a fighter has a mediocre chin, at welterweight he doesn't have enough to KO anyone. Kind of like Tim Bradley.
That's why Floyd boxes more and takes long vacations to heal his hands.
this is no good for pac pbf happening soon........
pbf needing a long vacation again after the vic fight to heal his hands...
and as roger says pbf needs more tune up fights b4 pac....
then more long vacations in between?????
he never really sits on his punches or swings for the faces from what ive seen its like he prefers putting on a boxing clinic and outclassing is opponents for 12 rounds rather then going for the k.o
Sorry bro but Mayweather wasn't knocking out Mosley under any circumstance, ever. Best he could've hoped for was a "no mas" due to frustration.
You probably didnt watch the fight, even Mosley's trainer was considering throwing the towel.

His opponents are often bloodied IMAO.He chooses areas to hit and he's accurate at that
He also could have easily knocked out Marquez or even Mosley.

cause he never really commits to his punches and doesnt always turn his punches over,
yep. this. it takes a little more energy to do that sorta ****. floyd is floyd now. he doesn't have to be that uber puncher most guys have to be to become an attraction. and that sorta thing extends careers.
Floyd does not wear puncher glovers but pillows that protect his hand, Mayweather can easily had a few more TKO's on his record but doesn't want to let his hands go, he could've stopped Judah anytime if he fully comitted.
He could've stopped Mosley too if he'd committed and sat on his punches.
TRUE.floyd aims for the chin with most of his shots, not the nose, eyes etc etc
Yeah, his accuracy is unreal.. hattons eye was swollen afterwards, but he was rushing in and getting caught all night with straight rights and check hooks. if he commits yeah he can easily tko/ko most people i saw him fight. hes just super patient, always thinking about strategy, positioning, range and things like that, people view this as bad but i think its good because hes not taking punishment or getting cracked upside his head in a war 1000 times. plus his hands are bad, always have been.
