Rogan is a good dude. And funny too. I don't care what anyone says about his comedy, he's made me laugh. I actually enjoy his podcasts way more and try to watch any of them that has someone interesting on there.
Yet I was attacked in the mma section for defending the man...lol oh the irony. Joe knows his sh1t and is a cool dude, smart too.
I was not aware that Gerald dropped weight to make 168. It was his first fight moving up to 168, I don't see how he couldn't make 168 if he was making 160 before that.
I'm not sure if Rogan is right on that note.
gerald made some of the biggest cuts in MW title history when he was at 160. for gilbert baptist he cut 16lbs in 2 weeks. keep in mind he wasnt one of these fat guys who are just out of shape, he was already lean and in shape at 176 and then had to remove 16lbs of water weight to make MW.
at 168 he obviously had an easier cut, or at least should have. by the time gerald moved up he didnt have a corner, he had left steward because he wanted to run his own show and he did just that. the guys he had around him were complete clowns who did nothing for him but carry his spit bucket and collect a pay day. literally..
gerald ran his own camp, made his own strategy and even wrapped his own hands. problem was gerald was no trainer and he had become extremely arrogant by this time in his career. he wasnt in proper shape when he began his cut, he wasnt anywhere near acceptable let alone perfect condition. on top of that he didnt have anyone to monitor his cut and overshot the mark by 3lbs. again, this isnt a case of coming in low because you are in shape or made the weight easily. its because he had an incompetent corner and everything around him was chaos and disarray.
benn punched him in the back of the head the entire fight.. Ive never seen that many hard rabbit punches connect in one fight Pffft that is the worst right there, Benn should have been arrested for it, that is a dangerous dangerous punch to get hit with once, never mind the whole fight.
Joe Rogan sounds like a retard if you listen to him during one of the UFC events or even if you listen to his show, he says a lot of retarded things, he's stuttering all the time and confusing words. Roy Jones is pretty sharp when I listen to him talk during the fights, he thinks stuff through, he makes sense, he uses "big words". Joe that pothead should worry about himself.
And while I do think he genuinely likes boxing and is a boxing fan, we all have to realize that he works for the UFC, so he will always be biased and say stupid things and hope for boxing to die and "his" company (not the sport itself) to get big. Because he wants to make a living. If he worked for HBO he would say the exact opposite even if he was an MMA fan. He'd trash the UFC non stop like everyone else is. So **** him. What he says means nothing. He's Dana's little *****...

yup this is what causes the brain damage. Its a reason why punches to the back of the head in MMA and Boxing are ILLEGAL, that was brutal and dirty the ref didn't even DQ Benn.
nah they were punching each other on the back of the head, it wasnt like it was one way traffic with that.. benn was just too good and too powerful for gerald, give the man some credit..

What happened to the G-Man can't scare RJJ that much, if it did he would have hung up his gloves long ago. Did McClellan really have trouble making weight for the fight? I thought Benn was the heavier guy on the night.
I dont know much about joe rogan I saw him argue with Lou Dibella and have seen his stand up a couple times which I am not a big fan of. But wow I am surprised the man knows his Boxing before I thought he was one of those guys who did know anything about Boxing and was just like Boxing is dead but the man does have knowledge on the sport. This video below is one of the videos that makes me hate Boxing unfortunately.
That video is one of the only videos that can make me tear up.
:nonono:

I'm not sure if Rogan is right on that note. From what I remember, McClellan was known for cutting too much weight too fast and this time Gerald blew up a little too much between fights and had a hard time making 168.
What the f*ck has that got to do with what he said you idiot? He wasn't talking about him being better than Roy Jones Jr.... typical meat heads.

... this is ridiculous Roy Jones is twice the commentator and 10x the athlete that joe rogan never was and its that simple
