I like Victor Ortiz, but dude seems to go off on some serious tangents when asked simple questions.
Just saw the video of his interview with Bill Emes and some of the things he said really made me scratch my head...
To me it seems like hes not a natural infront of the big stage cameras like others are, veterans and even young boxers like Amir Khan, Saul Alvarez, etc. Or maybe over time he will.
yeah i must agree, he's tries a little too much to be whatever it is he wants to be when on camera. like hard boiled said up there, ortiz tries to pull different versions of him sometimes when being filmed. he's a likable guy, he's got talent and doesn't really offend anyone, but he isn't comfortable with himself on camera right now, that's why he's kind of all over the place.

Dunno, I think it could be from when the media tarnished him as a quitter and that he has no heart. So whenever he talks to the media, its like he has a personal vendetta as if that specific interview called him a coward and Ortiz will say things like " Dunno, they said this about me and look at me now". It just makes him look like he is reluctant to talk to the media when asked about boxing but other subjects he comes off very well.
ortiz sounds like a crack addict during interviews. hey, that's how boxers are i guess. even sugar ray leonard, the most sane of them all, admitted to taking drugs.
Ortiz wants to trying to emulate DLH and its cringe worthy to watch. Everything from that cheesy smile, To the "Thank you, thank you very much".
He is confused about who he really is, One second he is Vicious Victor Ortiz, Then he is the next DLH, Then he "doesnt deserve to get beat up like this" , then he will "destroy berto", then he is the poor "orphan, hispanic kid with a run away father who cared for his brother" then he is the the ruthless Vato from LA.
Just a goofy, confused kid thats grossly overhyped.
