Mike Jones is not slick, but he is undefeated, young, and hungry, which is good enough for me. If Pacquiao doesn't fight either Bradley, Jones, or Mayweather after Marquez, I wouldn't be surprised. Dude just doesn't want to take on any top fighter at their best in recent years. Skipped Guzman, Casamayor, Campbell, Juan Diaz at 135 and took on David Diaz, skipped undefeated Berto and fought Mosley, skipped Ortiz and picked Marquez, doesn't want to take the test against Floyd. Hopefully he'll finally change in 2012 and fights Bradley or Jones if the Mayweather fight doesn't happen. I have bought all of this guys PPV's except the DLH and David Diaz one's, and he just keeps letting me down, and I keep buying his PPV's cause i'm just a boxing fan in general. Are we really justifying this? Mike Jones has done nothing, I like him, but this is an obvious attempt to top Mayweather - Ortiz, which won't happen, atleast Ortiz came back from adversity rose up and took a major title, if Mike Jones gets a major belt and defends it atleast once, I'm down, but right now to say its a good fight is funny

I don't mind mike jones being considered as a next opponent for pac (after marquez). I've seen some of his fights and he's a good fighter (i think he's ranked #7 in the welterweight division). However, I do agree with most people that Mike Jones needs to fight someone worth mentioning like a top ten ranked welter (possibly for a world title) before he can consider himself a legitimate challenger for pacquiao.

MJ has great potential but he has yet to really beat anybody. It's yet to be determined how good MJ is. I'll be surprised if Manny fights him, unless Mj is coming off a loss or bad performance of course.

Why not, as I mentioned earlier, go after one of the top junior welters? I have this imaginary thing I thought up for Manny Pacquiao's legacy. Sanctioning belts with all the flaws it has they still represent legitimacy and legacy building for any boxers. I just want Pacquiao to be remembered better and fondly by current fans and looked with admiration by future fans. Pacquiao challenging Junior Welterweights to me is a step back regardless of competition. You know, what Pacquiao did to the Welterweight division is a monster feat he eliminated all of the top 5 Welterweights of 2009 in two years. Now, I would like him to continue building on his resume in the Welterweight division. Hopefully, Mike Jones and Pacquiao do meet up but not now and not with his low stature of not being a champion.

I don't like the idea. Why can't Papa Bob get Mike Jones a belt first then I'm all for it. Undefeated with a belt versus Pacquiao's WBO it will be a unification fight and a super fight for reasons of: 1). Undefeated 2). Never gave up (diss on Ortiz) 3). Has a belt - unification title match 4). A young fighter 5). A legitimate fight outside of Mayweather 6). Another true Welterweight fight (diss on Marquez vs Pacquiao III) Pretty much, if Mike Jones picks up a strap along the way and comes 2012 he has a belt then it will be a great fight I can get behind.
