MANILA, Philippines – Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao thinks Floyd Mayweather Jr. is getting ready for their possible superfight.
He said this is why Mayweather has chosen to fight a southpaw like Victor Ortiz.
"Siguro (lalaban sa akin), dahil ang kakalabanin niya southpaw rin. ," Pacquiao told ABS-CBN News' Ginger Conejero.
This was the same view earlier aired by Pacquiao's boxing trainer, Freddie Roach.
"Of course, that's the first thing I thought," Roach had said.
Boxing pundits say Mayweather has difficulties handling left-handed boxers.
"Floyd was always reticent about fighting a southpaw," boxing promoter Bob Arum earlier said.
"A southpaw like Manny Pacquiao, he doesn't want no part of, because even if he protects himself from his left, he's going to bang him with his right hand," he had explained.
The Mexican-American Ortiz, however, is no tune-up for Mayweather. He is the reigning world Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion.
"Good luck sa kanya ," Pacquiao said, referring to Mayweather's September 17 fight against Ortiz.

:tool:
But you can run two divisions away from a guy because you're scared of him. Wait until he is 39 and then fight him again.
Since when did Pac did that..
My response to that is...
This
You are a moron.. Sta Cruz was a far better fighter at LW than he was at Junior Welter.. The guy beat Edner Cherry at LW for godsake...Oh by the way, Diaz beat Judah in the amateurs.. There is a reason why Diaz fought in the Olympics and not Judah..
Here we go again...
Floyd already beat a former Middleweight champ, and arguably a better Jr Middleweight @ 154 in De la Hoya 4 years ago. Pacquiao beat a un-ranked Margarito at a 150 lb "catch-weight" for a 154 lb belt, and the world recognized him as a Jr Middleweight champ. Martinez, the former recognized belt holder who was stripped of his title, and subsequently defeated and became the Middleweight champ, said he can still make 154 and can fight Pacquiao. Stop acting like Martinez out grew the division of 154, because that clearly wasn't the case.
But I'm sure you clearly had no problems with this though...right?

I'm not acting like anything. Everything u posted is true, and it still doesn't refute what I said. Is martinez the middle weight champion of the world?
Has he not called out both manny and floyd?
Has either of them fought him?
U can't "duck" a guy 2 weight classes above u. Even if he signs at 154, he's gonna blow up to 170-175 come fight night. That is a sh!t load of advantage, I don't see either man fighting the guy and I can't hold it against them.
Floyds not ducking him, and neither is pac. And if ur adamant that weight doesn't matter in boxing and skills pay the bills and all that other jive, fine. He called out both floyd and manny, so if one guy is "ducking" him, the other guy is "ducking" him as well.
Manny's strength comes from rice. As long as he can still lift a fork after the test he'll be fine.
my homey is a MMA fan...so we was going at it on some MMA vs boxing sh!t....so he said every boxer would get smashed down in the cage....so I said Manny would whip some ass in the cage....he agreed and I asked him did he think Manny was juicing...he said naw...he think Manny drink chicken blood :rofl:....I almost died LMAO

"Dat muthf*cka musta not got the memo" :lol1:
“Well I wouldn’t think he would fight Pacquiao right after fighting Victor Ortiz. I mean it would be crazy for Floyd to go in the ring with Pacquiao after fighting Victor Ortiz! Floyd needs fights. He needs to be active... But at the same time I don’t think that Floyd can do this. Floyd needs tune-ups like anybody else. It ain’t no different than any other fighter if you are going to compete with a guy who has been active all the time.”
TAKE THE TEST! And after we take a couple of tuneups and another vacation or 2, we'll have a fight :boxing:
None of those wins are anything to brag about, they're all over-hyped club fighters. Oh yea, just wanted to point out Corley and Juda were coming off loses, and Mitchell was one fight away from being KO'ed for the 2nd time by Tszyu. Hate to say it, but end of the day, Diaz's record trumps either of those three
Diaz what?????
My bad, I overlooked David Diaz but don't be mistaken. Comparing 3k and David Diaz to Zab Judah and Sharmba Mitchell insults the intelligence of any sensible boxing fan. Outside of Morales, who has Diaz beat? I watched that fight, and he look like **** even against the faded vet. 3k was always trash, just a another over hyped Pacquiao opponent with know significant W's under his belt.
Demarcus Corley ranks higher than those two.

Whatever, Manny. Too bad he has to deal with your annoying lawsuit and be distracted during training camp. I can't believe I used to root for this guy.
let's just be realistic. although ortiz is expected to be an easy fight for floyd, things can happen. it might proved to be a nightmare for floyd.
so ortiz will determine whether floyd is ready for pac or not.

Diaz beat Sta Cruz, you know the guy who was robbed of a win over Casamayor.

pactardation dont know limits....Don't fight with them!....

dont say this. floyd might find a way to request to cut off pacs rice intake... that rice is on DAT SHIIT.
We jumping here for joy! Stop the press we are thinking of the superfight! "Nothing but you, jumping ah jumping ah!"
damn they suck. and its obvious that country doesnt know how to shooot music vids.
If they don't they better learn how, cause I got this feeling their music career isn't going very far...
Lets hope so. I'm kinda at that "believe it when I see it" point when floyds involved. But he did just make a real good fight with ortiz, and he has to be tired of all the manny questions he get's pelted with anytime he steps out of his house. Hopefully manny will stay true to his word and agree to the all the extra testing floyds been so worried about, and floyd will stay true to his word finally step up to the plate without anymore retarded excuses/delays/demands.
Why do Team Pacquiao keep trying to perpetuate a rumor of Floyd avoiding South Paws, when it is a known fact that Pacquiao hasn't fought a southpaw in almost 10 years. And people wonder why Pacquiao wants no part of Martinez.
Floyd has more quality wins over southpaws is the last 5 years, than Pacquiao has his entire career.
Who exactly is "wondering why" pac doesn't "want any part of martinez"???? Must be some slow ass people ur talking about. Pac isn't fighting martinez for the same exact reason floyds not fighting martinez, last time I checked dudes a fuking middle weight. Rocket science it is not...
