After watching Haye Wlad face off i have to say... as much as it pisses people off. It's good for the sport of boxing if guys don't like each other before a fight. Makes it tense. draws lines in the sand.
You have to congratulate Haye and Wlad for both playing their rolls but I think ultimately all the **** talk has put an eye on this fight and people in their seats.
If the fighters truly dislike each other it's fantastic. The only time I don't like trash talk is when A) it isn't backed up with fists or B) it's fake anger and the guy spewing it has no charisma.
Dudes that can pull it off like mayorga always add that little extra spice to a fight. I love it.
Trash talking has existed in Boxing since the beginning of the last century.
And it always will.
It is good for the sport, no question.
As long as you prove you are worthy, I'm all for it.
When the likes of Degale and Haye do it I'm not too fond of it unless they go on to prove they are capable of doing what they said.
I'm not taking sides in this fight i just want to see a good one.
But i think it's good for the sport. I'm reading this book On Ali's trainer. And ALI would talk MAD trash before the fight like allot and would back it up. There was a period of time over 20 or so fights he would ko a guy in the round he picked. People ate it up it made him look like some kinda prophet.
I think if you step back and look at it, it's just talk, and it can be kinda funny like Mayorga's jabber. But no one can take the crown from the Louisville lip! Ali was great for getting into guys heads. I think that's the danger of taking the talk to seriously. You don't train strategically you train to hurt the other guy but being emotional which wastes energy.
Vlad can't take what this guy says seriously, I think that could be trouble. it looks like it is getting under his skin... big time.
trash talk sells tickets. good vs evil is the oldest rivalry. 2 good guys is hard to sell noone want to see that. but if there is hate and bad blood oh makes ppl want to see it. sells fights. whatever gets people to watch is good. ric flair is always the heel in wrestling its good for business its entertainment. theres no batman without the joker no superman without lex luthor
That's the key, the boxer has to be able to have the charisma to pull it off. Sorry but Mayweather doesn't, when he talks sh1t it's like he's trying really, really hard and you can tell he takes sh1t real personal.
When he did those interviews with what's his name on ESPN, he was getting mad. You have to be able to take it if you are going to dish it out, Mayweather's ego won't allow him to do that.
As long as the boxer can deliver, ala Mayweather, Hopkins, Mayorga, Tyson.
Now what Haye showed us so far?
That he gets a hard on sitting next to Kellerman and Wlad.
