Even tho I like the fact they are fighting, this article nails it down right. Except for Martinez, I'd rather watch Floyd fight Ortiz anyday.

Yes, Victor can win. You are all buying into that myth about Floyd's invincibility too much. Maybe he was invincible, but that was some time ago. Maybe he just never fought the best man out there.
Floyd isn't invincible and I never thought for a moment that he was. I do think he is leagues above Ortiz though and the best fighter in boxing.
I would have rather seen him fight Martinez, but that's it. Nothing you can complain about in him fighting Ortiz. Can Ortiz win? Probably not, but he was the best Welterweight available.

Not significantly. Baldomir is 5'7, Margarito 5'11. You judge him by that fight with the steroid monkey and say he's done?
Baldomir still outweighed significantly on fight night by over 10 Lbs.
No, I judge by the fact he hasn't looked good against a legit opponent in over 2 years and in his last 2 fights against legit opponents he got utterly destroyed.
No he hasn't. He has beaten Yuri Foreman and a shot to pieces Ricardo Mayorga.
He's done nothing to shout about since his back to back beatdowns and wouldn't be a legit fight for Mayweather.
You know this, how?
He hasn't had a single fight since his brutal loss and for all we know he is a completely different fighter now.
Floyd fighting him directly after his heavy loss is obviously not a legit fight.
He should. He's done.
Being the bigger and stronger man means nothing. Baldomir was the bigger and stronger man.
He is done. He has done nothing in over 2 years to suggest he would be a legit fight for Floyd.

Martinez yes, Bradley yes, Cotto maybe.
Williams - No
Margarito - Hell to the no.
Are we living in some fantasy world where most of these guys didn't get the sh#t knocked out of them? On top of that none of them are currently active at 147 so now we have to hear people complaining about Mayweather dragging people up to 147 or dragging people down in weight if he chooses to not fight them at their weight class proper.
Youre killing it off without knowing all the facts. Cotto is looking as good as he has looked since moving up to welterweight. He dismantled Mayorga without bigger problems and he could still give FMJ a good fight.

Williams coming of a brutal ko doesn't mean ANYTHING. If anything, he's even more hungry and focused now

Margarito shouldn't be laughed off even at this point.
He should. He's done.
He may not be a match for Floyd since he's slow and past prime and never was a great technician, but he's still a challenge and he always comes to fight. He's also a bigger man, probably stronger too.

Everything except Bradley.
Leo Reyes is probably the least credible writer on BR. He just writes Pacquiao p0rn for the masses. He regularly gets ripped to shreds by other authors in the Boxing section no matter how much the pinoy fanboys defend his garbage.
This is absolute FACT. I used to post over on cbssports.com boxing forums before coming over here. The quality of the writers over there was a big reason for me leaving. Leo Reyes is nothing more than an ignorant Pac fan boy who doesn't know s**t about boxing outside of Pac.
5 fights i want to see rather than Pac vs JMM
Pac vs Amir Khan
Pac vs Bradley
Pac Vs Ortiz
Pac vs Martinez
Pac vs Cotto rematch
Apart from the cotto rematch your list isnt bad at all..
From a fans perspective, Im not sure I agree with the body of the article. Its almost a joke.
Margarito and Cotto, not that I wasn't calling for those bouts 4 years ago, but they are almost poinless at this point. Neither have been the same since their fight in 08 and I'd rather see them rematch, then be caught up in May and Manny's one upping of each other and flat out ego trippin.
Staight up, Floyd isn't as dumb as he appears, and no way is he going to ruin the biggest payday in boxing history by tangling with Williams or Martinez at this point. Personally I love these fights and am interested in seeing what happens with Williams and Lara after their scrap soon.
Ortiz is riding high right now and will bring fans to the fight(not Margarito numbers but good enough), is young, strong and fast. And, wont be able to get out of the way of the counter right. It makes for a compelling fight. I dont understand the hate.
only maybe the Martinez fight, the others...NO THANK YOU! I think Mayweather would beat all 3 of those fighters (Williams, Margarito and Cotto) EASY! All are two slow and would only have a PUNCHERS CHANCE
Time for some NEW FIGHTERS to get a chance to SHINE, tired of recycling PPV's with Margarito and Cotto, Arum been doing that for the last 2-3 years
Cotto?, Marg? Williams?
Do people think before writing? Its June 2011, things have changed. Its like some of these people live in a warped world, stuck when these match up mattered. In 2011 they dont. Maybe they will once again in the future if one of these guys do something, but as of right now they dont.
Margarito? :lol1: No thanks.
Williams coming off a brutal 1 punch KO? No thanks.
Cotto in decline who has done very little since taking back to back career ending level beatings? No thanks.
Martinez and Bradley would be good and legit fights.
But, I'm happy with the highest ranked fighter that doesn't have a fight signed in the division that Mayweather fights in.
Out of all of those fighters the only one who is ranked in Mayweather's division is Victor Ortiz. :lol1:

He dismantled Mayorga without bigger problems and he could still give FMJ a good fight. Yes, I'd rather like if they coulda fought earlier, but that can't be helped. Williams coming of a brutal ko doesn't mean ANYTHING. If anything, he's even more hungry and focused now. And Floyd has obviously been avoiding him, tho I understand why. It would be like a fight between a cheetah and a giraffe.:lol1: Margarito shouldn't be laughed off even at this point. Floyd vs Polar Bear that hasn't eaten in 2weeks
LOL :lol1:
No but seriously, I'd love to see a Mayweather vs. Bradley fight, probably more so than Mayweather-Ortiz.
Margarito? :lol1: No thanks.

Can't really say anything else after this. Would just be repeating.
