He isn't a great ww. He did just beat the 3rd ranked ww in the world and won a belt at 147. That does give him instant credibility at the weight especially since its his first time at the weight. So all it takes is one fight to make or break a fighter? dude wasn't even ranked @ JrWW FFS! Geez, what is preventing Floyd from moving up at 154. If he didnt want to fight Martinez, he could fight Angulo, or any of the contenders in that division. Williams, who recently lose to Martinez, would still be a better fight than Ortiz. WW is a sh!t division right now. The top fighters there have already moved up in weight, defeated, or retired. The only fighter left there is Pac, and some few fighters at 140, who are looking to move up at 147. There are also young fighters like Lara, Ortiz but they are still untested, and definitely not ready at that level.. He only went to 154 to fight ODH and make dough. He isn't a 154lb thats why he hasn't gone up to fight those guys. Ortiz simply earned the right to fight Floyd or Manny by beating a guy who most people thought was good enough to fight either one.
