if chavez' gameplan is to smother cotto with his weight advantage and height and maintain pressure for 12+ rounds, we'd expect to see a margs + cotto all over again. although chavez is by no means a warrior like margarito, if you see his fight with zbik better be ready fror those heavy ass body punches from chavez. I think chavez will be outboxed but it will be like zbik fight and cotto will either take a knee on get on his bike after round 9
margarito-cotto 2.
cotto schools chavez for the 1st 4-5 rounds.
cotto gasses like he always does.
cotto starts getting beat up.
cotto takes a knee.
edit: misread. my fault tua.
i sorta agree with this though. cotto schools then the weight becomes too much.
its cotto, a welterweight fighting chavez jr, a cruiserweight :lol1:
if chavez is a cruiserweight because he came in 180 at 160.
then cotto is a middleweight because he comes in around 160 at 140-147.
but yes there is a size difference.
a big one.
and that's why cotto is gonna get his shit kicked in.
I don't know...I think Cotto should win but to be honest as much as I like Cotto...he haven't been the same since probably the Margarito fight to be honest
If Chavez can take Cotto's Power early then I think he hangs around and starts to get moment late in the fight, if Cotto power hurts him early and gets him to change things up then Cotto will KILL HIM
Jr. is a horrible fighter and looked pretty bad getting ripped with clean shot after shot from pillowfisted Zbik all night.
Cotto should be able to box carefully to a decision against his amateur and the only reason its even a possibility that something could happen is because Jr is naturally 20lbs bigger than Cotto who is really a WW.

Are they gonna let Chavez do an 8 Ball of Coke before the fight?
this
cotto gassed after round 9 or 10 in the clottey fight likewise broke down about the same time with the margs fight. all im saying is with constant pressure you can break cotto down in later rounds. if chavez keeps it competitive enough to make it a hard fight for cotto, he can shine in the later rounds
with a 6 foot , 180 lb. chavez leaning and pushing on him?
cotto's stamina will be tested big time.

LOL. Cotto toys with this kid.
Cotto doesn't toy with him and it would be a good fight for about 8 rounds or so. In the later rounds Cotto wears him down and it could be stopped by the ref or corner.
Jr's size would be trouble for him early on but he would need to be very active and I don't see that happening. There are times where he stops throwing for some reason and allows to be pushed back.
Marg smothered Cotto with pressure and constant shots, Jr won't be able to do that.
JR is a bad fight for any mortal. unless you're in x-men first class or some sh1t like that u'r in trouble.

The bodywork of Cotto will be the major factor. Chavez is limited, and Cotto is a world class operator.
Cotto by technical knock-out in the later rounds.
I wonder how Chavez will even get to Cotto when the kid doesn't throw at all when his opponent is punching. Chavez Jr also has horrible defense. All Cotto has to do is use his jab and throw the right hand from time to time to set up his most powerfull weapon one that Chavez Jr will feel on his bones! the moster left hook. Cotto will land that punch at a very high rate probably 80% of them to the point Chavez Jr face will look like a mess.
