 Roy is serious about still fighting. "I look at a guy like Benard Hopkins still fighting and say why cant I do the same" damn Roy. God Bless Roy Jones crazy ass.
I really think that what Roy is doing is admirable....he is not doing it for ego, money, winning or anything else even when his old skills have long left him already. His love for boxing is still there.
To me that's the most admirable thing about him wanting to fight still.
GO ROY!
That's idiotic, its sad not admirable. Its sad that he's still fighting and there's plenty of ways to show his love for boxing a part from fighting itself. What's so good about him getting KO'd and potentially causing unnecessary brain damage and other conditions later on in life. Who knows how anxious it must be when his family is watching his fights especially recently. For the sake of RJJ's health I hope he retires. I bet it pains him quite a bit that he was hardly as good as he was when he was in his prime. B-Hop is different than you Roy, I don't see how he's trying to make a case by comparing B-hop.
At the end of the day the sport is bigger than everyone.
He skipped the fact that BHOP is still winning fights though.
He also skipped the fact that he also just recently fought BHOP and lost by a landslide. Why he compares himself to BHOP is beyond anyone.
It's crazy to think back at the man Roy was in the nineties, and the man he is today. Im not even talking boxing skills, im talking about the man who was gonna go out on top, the man who would never stay in the game to long, the man who was not gonna end up like Gerald, reluctant roy they used to call him!he aint to reluctant anymore. Im starting to think the great man has brain damage already.
the man has too much pride, it's sad to see him like that...if he fights nobodies with no real power, than maybe he can continue, but still, at his weight, there's a risk any fighter can throw the perfect shot to put him to sleep.

Hopkins has explained 100 times why Roy can't do what Bernard is doing at this age. Once his physical gifts started to leave him, there was no foundation of fundamentals to fall back on.
Precisely.
In their primes, Jones wins based on the gift of speed.

It is going to be up to boxing commissions and medical boards to stop him from doing irreparable harm not only to himself but also to the sport of boxing.
any updates on that secret trainer? i heard the phone interview he had a week ago with 8CN. he sounded completely sure he'd hang it up if this secret trainer didn't have what he was lookin for. never know with roy though, he'll be back again no matter what.
Hopkins has never been stopped Roy...you have TKO losses against Tarver, Johnson, Green, and Lebedev. Add that to 4 other decision losses. 8 losses..come on man. Really just padding up your loss column for no reason at all against guys you could have beaten in your prime.
