Williams walks through Lara, it's not even a close or fair fight. Did you all not see Laras last outting? He gassed while fighting at a pace HE set. So what do you think will happen against williams, who will set an INCREDIBLE pace.
Look...

Moline avgd like 50 punches a round and Lara resulted to clinching, tugging at his belt, and pushing/forcing punches. Fatigued. Check out his beautiful jab stats as well.
Williams kills lara, this isn't a close fight.
don't know if it's competitive but there is a huge question mark of what does pwill look like after that really-really devastating KO how does he respond to shots?does he still try to swarm guys?is he still willing to take punishment to get off?
that's why there is no guarantee what happens and intrigue for a fight against a contender that doesn't have a track record
Really he should? Lara isnt some bum off the street.
He is exactly a bum off the street. P-Will is going to run through that guy, I dont know why Lara gets the hype he does, because he was a cuban defector?? Big deal, he hasnt proved a damn thing in the ring yet. Not ONCE!!!
Exactly... Lara is not going to be walking into the helicopter blades. And unless you're walking toward, standing in front of, or constantly exchanging against high output fighters, you automatically cut into their output.
I expect Lara to be on the outside, try to strike first, and be on the move. He'll have to to win.
He could, but as of right now, I see a back and forth fight, where either fighter can win. I might give a slight edge to P-Will, but Lara will give him all sorts of problems even in a losing effort.
Lara prefers being center ring, but is content having his opponent pressing him and fighting on the outside.
P-Will better hope his constant pressure and attack makes Lara stop in front of him and ear muff for extended periods of time because the fewer combinations he throws the less likely he wins.
Have people forgotten or are they just ignoring how leaky Paul's defense is against southpaws? He barely sees the straight lefts coming and Lara will be allowed to punch, so even if Williams does land a combination on Lara's earmuffs, 1-2 clean power shots will erase that.
I haven't forgotten at all, I'm just not sold on lara at all. Paul has a problem with unorthodox southpaws. Both Quintana and Martinez move a lot and prefer to throw at angles. Neither need to be set while throwing and throw whilst moving or whilst slpping. One of their traits.
Lara resets before every combination. Doesn't move often and ear muffs. Not to mention he's never been in with someone with Pauls experience OR physical gifts. He has a problem with his stamina, the Molina fight isn't the only sign of this. He always dictates the pace and still seems to show cardio problems ala Chad Dawson.
He gasses here, and looks bad in the process imo. Resets too much, ear muffs too much. It will look like the Wright fight more than anything no doubt, depending on how Paul bounces back from his last outing.
and in the past when Williams was confronted with that in Quintana I he only threw 50 ppr. Both guys at their best have a style to present the other with problems. Lara has to bring his A game for sure though or he'll get ran over.

I wouldnt say a toss up. Lara is no Martinez. Or even a prime Quintana for that matter. He will have some good moments because of the reasons you named but he has awful stamina and has no idea what to do when an opponent aserts his will on him. He just bends over and covers his ears. He also is not an outside type of fighter. He wants the fight right in the middle of the ring and Lara is not light on his feet.
Paul will pound him out, stop him late imo. Lara will be a test but a test that Paul should Ace with flying colors.

You are in for a rude awakening. Lara doesn't prefer the fight on the outside, he prefers it center ring. He is a flat footed, wide stances southpaw who eitehr squares up and ear muffs too much or drops his lead hand before punching too often. he also doesn't jab enough. This is a bad bad fight, it will be proven.

Because Lara is an athletic, quick, good counter punching southpaw with good power, who wants to box and keep the fight on the outside...
Forget about the fact P-Will is coming off of a devastating KO, doesn't that fit some sort of description?
Keep looking at what happened against Molina if you want, but Williams-Lara is a tossup.

Lara has fought nothing but bums on ESPN and the 1st good fighter he fought there he looked like ****. What makes you think he can hang with Williams? Altho Williams isn't all that either aside from his length he has been with elite fighters.

Lara fights nothing like Quintana. I think his team rushed him in to this fight.

yeah. Because thats what Lara does.
Kind of like Clottey, Winky. He cant mix his offense and defense.
ok then....we all know very well that pwil does'nt stop puching..and you said lara stops punching when his opponent is...so, based on what you said lara aint a threat to pwill....

I think people are saying it will be competitve because of the question marks around Paul moreso than what Lara will bring to the table.
Kind of like how many thought about Foreman-Cotto.

Please show me that. Me a long with Cubanborn, Tyymann and a few others have been on Lara. I said the kid needs a lot of work and that was after the Grady Brewer fight,.
I never said he wasnt good. Stop making up stuff. It is a legit threat. Its a good first fight back for Williams especially considering he struggles with Lefties.

To be fair to Lara he didnt have a full training camp. Against The Punisher he will. With that said he will get knocked out late. Most likely a TKO ref stoppage.
Lara will have his moments because Paul struggles with crafty, left handed boxers.
