Kelly Pavlik wins this fight by KO. If they fight ten times, Kelly knocks him out ten times.
Pavlik has never had trouble with brawlers or punchers (Miranda) - he only struggles against boxers (Hopkins) and guys with super hand speed and reflexes (Martinez). He basically walked Miranda down, and Edison Miranda is a harder puncher than Arthur Abraham.
It would be an exciting fight, for sure, since both guys are brave, devastating punchers - but Pavlik takes it.
pavlik is a horrid style for abraham at anywhere near his best
he throws a lot with both hands from far away and he's got a very good chin
pavlik via landslide decision, maybe knockout if abraham opened up
i think AA is done. he looks gunshy and even more limited than in the past. if he's got anything left in the tank these two would put on a good show
Pavlik has a very good jab, a considerable height advantage, a solid chin, and good power in both hands. I think that combination would give him the odds against Abraham.
Pavlik's boxing ability is a little underrated here. He can jab, and he can fight outside, and you know he would just try to do what the Super Sixers have done to Abraham. I think he would do it.
If they had fought back when both were middleweights, Pavlik probably would have been the first to show us the blueprint to beat Abraham.
At MW I would have pick Pav over AA,but Pav looks like he has lost his confidence and that won't be good against AA..Not to mention Pav don't have the legs to pull off what the SS fighters did imo..
I think that Abraham and Pavlik are very similar in that respect.
Neither are over-endowed with technical acumen.
Both guys rely on their power to supplement their styles.
Both guys will struggle to make an impact against the top guys at 168.
They are a match made in heaven, this is a puncher's dream fight, and a crossroads fight for both guys. It quite simply has to happen.
I agree this fight is a must happen at this point of both fighters career..I think it will still have loads of interest as well, hope it happens..

Pavlik by easy UD over the much smaller, and shorter Arthur "I'm the living heavybag" Abraham
Pav might be taller then AA,but at 168lb I don't know if he would be stronger..I also don't know if Pav would bring his power up with him, everytime Pav has fought above 160lb he never looked great..It's not his best weight imo,you mix that with the fact it looks like he has lost what lil skills he did have..I say AA KO's him in an exciting fight..
Kelly won't fight Abraham that way he'll stay on the outside an jab exactly like Froch and Ward
Pav does not have the skills of either fighter..And is very flat footed to boot..
this one still has FOTY all over it
it would be a question of how hungry they are
the styles are still there
kelly's going to have an easier time landing the jab and right hand on a guy with no headmovement and footwork
and abraham's not going to have to track kelly down, he's going to be there fighting

abraham and kelly and abraham and williams are tremendous fights
i know williams is planning a return to WW or likely jr MW
but i'd still pick him to beat abraham up if he can figure out a way to tie him up when he actually decides to punch and not get knocked into next week
That fight is harder to pick than a broken nose.
I went with Pav, only because I assumed that the fight would take place at 168.
If at 160, then I would slightly favor Abraham.
Abraham did well tonight imho, well, better than I thought he would anyways.
He managed to hang with Ward and keep him honest for the most part, showing a good jab and some decent skills.
This fight could come down to who lands the first good punch and follows up.
You could be right but Pav's come forward style might be his undoing in this fight..That and the fact he looked like trash in his last fight and even looked a bit hurt at times..
