Kill that bull****, i knew we were in for a very long night when mosley looked foward to touching gloves more than boxing. I was glad to see mayweather pop mosley in his mouth for talking and being all friendly in the match.
more recently when berto came out in the seventh trying to touch ortiz's glove ortiz popped that sucka in his grill. You can always tell which fighter wants it more by the way they totally disrespect is opposition in the fight. Not to be unsportsmanlike, just "we are here to fight ***** now fight". :buttkick:
Thoughts?
Of course Mosley wanted to touch gloves before every round. He was happy that Manny and his team was giving him his last big pay day.And I will take it further than that. I think Mosley threw the fight just like Clottey. Yes,SHANE MOSLEY THREW THE FIGHT!!! And right before the post fight interview, when the camera was on them,Mosley tells Manny that he is the number 1 p4p king.He was paid to say that. It was promotion for Manny and minimizing Mayweather. I have never saw Shane enter a fight and do nothing. IS MANNY THAT GREAT THAT A RING VETERAN/LEGEND IS TOO SCARED TO THROW PUNCHES WHEN HE IS THE BIGGER, LONGER, AND MORE EXPERIENCED FIGHTER???? A modern day setup by Bob Arum!!! There's no way that a champion like Mosley enters a fight and doesn't compete unless there's something else going on. Manny didn't even perform at a high level.I feel robbed for buying the ppv. This is a prime example why boxing is where its at with the mainstream. Who cares if Bradley or Marquez doesn't have the same marquee value as Mosley. The fight would have been more exciting with them.Plus, they wouldn't have taken a dive.I like Manny Pacquiao, but that MACHINE that's behind him is trying to make him look invincible and doing anything to keep it that way. Call me crazy, but I think this fight should be investigated!!!
im ALL for respecting your opponent...and some guys seem to have internal switches where they can be gentlemen one second (touch gloves to start a round)...and the next second be looking to bash your nose in...in that case...go ahead, touch gloves all you want...
but last night i was just sitting there with some friends watching them touch gloves at the beginning and end of each round and just found my self yelling at the TV....it just seemed like NOTHING could have made Shane angry enough to fight last night...he kept looking at Bayless to do something about the head clashes too...i figured at SOME point that might piss him off enough to throw punches...but nope...just touching gloves..
not getting punched...not getting knocked down...not the constant head clashes...not the booing fans...NOTHING was going to piss off Shane...
That was one show of respect at the end, but rest of the fight they had bad intentions toward each other. they weren't stroking each other afert EVERY round or EVERY break like mosely did last night. :3some:
They did touch gloves in between also because of headbutts and such. But not as much as Pac vs Mosley
Just posted about this in another thread. In both the Mayweather and Pac fights, Mosley was doing this way too much and Pac was too happy to oblige. At least May just punched him and didn't want to do it all the time. I'm all for good sportsmanship but I don't want to see fighters touch gloves after every clinch, headbutt, punch, walk, run etc. Start and/or end of the round I think is good, but not all the time.
Ive no time for it, after an accidental head clash or something and before the last round sure its sporting but EVERY round is too much its FIGHT and ur there to hurt the guy, i prefer a cold hearted Cotto type approach
Not really, last night Arce touch gloves then went on to hug Vazquez jr. before landing a hailstorm of punches to his face and stopping him
