I've seen enough footage of his work with Shane and B-Hop and I'm convinced his methods are pretty wack. That stupid towel and the foam sticks, I meam WTF? In truth I think Shane and Bernard train themselves and Naz is just a cheerleader who spills his philosophical views on whatever. On these docs, Pac's training looks intense, Floyd's training looks intense, Shane and Naz always look like they sitting around at the dinner table listening to Naz and his Yoda speak. Did Naz ever box, seriously what does he know about being a fighter?
Maybe Shane should train with his father at least u knew his pops was putting in work.
I think Nazim is a good trainer for kids and taking people from Learning boxing to going pro but I think he is a horrible trainer if you want to be a true superstar. He can ramble on all day about his philosophies but he will never have a superstar boxer that is world class. He should focus on working with kids and journeyman and if he gets someone with superstar level he should get a superstar coach for him who has a proven track record with star athletes.
He is not overrated he was asked to come up wit plans to beat two of the best fighters in the world 1 is undefeated and the other hasn't lost in years not a easy task!!!!!!! Esp when your boxer is past his prime and the other boxers are in their prime
I know when Shane kept turning Pac for 12 rounds, that worked. Pac was not in range to throw the left. After that Shane didn't listen. It's up to the boxer to execute the game plan. In the first few seconds of the 1st round Naazim was yelling "Your too slow Shane!" . He does his job well.
Thats just common sense from watching the Marquez fights, what made his trainer think Shane could fight, defend, and counter like Marquez? Not being honest with themselves or the public, Shane has never shown in his entire career he could be a "slick" boxer, why they conned the public. Shane didnt even have the attitude of coming to win, he was just happy to be there.

I like Naz. He seems to really know his stuff about boxing in general and seems an honest guy.
Shane is shot to pieces, Naz can't do it for him in the ring..
not until he brings up a fighter from nothing
he's got some talented kids that he seems to think have a chance
he's a very wise man and he knows all that you would need to know about boxing
his best work, however, has been done with veteran fighters (hopkins, mosley, cunningham)
he gets a man prepared mentally as well as any trainer i can think of
additionally, he doesn't have a huge stable, and his involvement with his fighters is very extensive
considering the fact that he suffered a bad stroke,
he's one of the most remarkable men on the planet
Naazim is one of the best in the business...hands down....Shane and Naazim has been a team for 4 fights....Shane went 1-2-1 in those fights...the L's came against boxing's elite...Shane is a vet a future HOF'er...so at times he might have trouble TRUSTING Naazim imo...it seems like Naaz is sometimes TRYING to convince Shane that this or that will work....smh
if I may ask
who besides Hopkins, who I attribute as more of a Bouie Fischer fighter, has benefited from Naazim's training?
Pavlik is a good example being used.
But also after the knockdowns against Pascal. Naz's advice put Hopkins in check and won him the fight (officially a draw, but a robbery of a draw).
TS, go watch more fights instead of just ones he's been involved in against Pac and Mayweather.
I would like to see naz wit a up and coming fighter and watch them grow then u can get a full look at what he does with his fighters. He kinda got tossed in the mix wit fighters that's gonna do what they want.
Yes I know about the stroke but those training methods are still wack, again I didnt ask if he was a great philosopher but trainer, training a guy for a fight takes more than talk. I know Roach, Floyd Sr, Roger, Steward they get in the ring and put in work with their fighters, how can Naz train if he cant physically work with the fighter? Thats why there is no footage on Fightcamp or 24/7, Shanes training is bowling, twitter, and chasing da panties.
Ok, but what about Cus Damato. Great trainer and he didn't need to get into the ring. He had greats like Floyd Patterson, Ricardo Torres, and Mike Tyson. Twice in his career he made the youngest heavyweight champion with Patterson and Tyson. People have different styles when it comes to teaching. So I look at there accomplishments and if they are winning and their fighters are improving then great. Some trainers and fighters don't work well together. Prime example Emmanuel Steward and Jermain Taylor. Before Steward got their Taylor came up the ranks and won the undisputed middleweight title. When Steward got there, yes they won some credible fights but Steward got frustrated in a couple of fights with Taylor because he wasn't listening to him. Steward is probaly one of the greatest trainer of all time but Taylor kept on resorting back to bad habits in the ring that exposed himself and left him open. But to say Richardson is a lousy trainer, I have to disagree.

Naazim is nothing but a motivational speaker, not a trainer, he does the same thing Bundini Brown did for Ali, keep him hype, cheerful, motivated. Bowie was Hopkins trainer, Naaz was just Bundini in the background. Hopkins made the switch cause he dont need a trainer anymore, just a motivater. Shane actually needs someone to show him how to fight certain styles and opponents, Naaz cant help him there
All these posts and no one has touched on the main problem with Richardson: the man doesn't believe in world class sparring. Not even middle of the road sparring. Just like before the Mayweather fight, Naazim said that sh*t about if a sparring partner was good enough to emulate Pacquiao, they'd be defending a world title somewhere. And that gives him an excuse to throw his sons Bear and Rock Allen in as the lead partners, along with his nephews, the Dargans. And just like the Mayweather fight, Mosley had no idea how to handle world class speed, power, and skill come fight night.
With that said, Naazim is a great trainer in my eyes. Mosley is simply finished, and there's not much he can do to revive him.
Being a great trainer depends on who walked through the door and people being such followers by nature that the first champ that walked in always attracts the next one your way , then that bring more prospects , next thing your a great trainer ,,,,,,, lots of really good trainers around and Nazim is one of them .
The greatest trainer that ever lived could not have got Mosley to be any better because Mosley dont have it any more .
Naazim said the game is to be "sold" not told, yeah ya'll certainly sold that Bull****. Good work Showtime buy more mismatches like Pac-Marquez at 145
am sure that match will go to hbo, showtime would take that fight in a heart-beat
