I have been wondering for some time now. Cotto at 147 that beat Mosley and Judah was one of the best p4p fighters on the planet. Could he beat PBF and can he do it now?? I think he could back then, now im not so sure.
Cotto went MIA when Max and Larry asked him to his face about fighting Floyd.
"I....I....I just fights who my managements tells me to fights"
LOL
Go to 1:35 and he mentions Mayweather
Floyd wouldn't fight a guy as dangerous as Cotto, but people genuinely think he would have been the guy too take Floyds '0'? Cotto gets overrated as hell if that is the case

Thats always been Cotto's style man, u know this. He isnt the type to call out really, coming up and at his best that was always his standard answer.
Nothing funny there
Cotto is blind to right hands and would get worked over on the inside.
If he was ever good enough to beat Floyd...he did a good job hiding it.
Cotto never had a chance.
Well its all speculation now as Floyd was M.I.A when he should have been fighting these type of guys
At the time i honestly believed he was the man to beat Mayweather, it takes a puncher to beat Cotto, very hard to outbox him at his best, he cut the ring off so well, and was a wrecking machine up close, he'd walk u down with a pole of a jab and bang in the combo's and body shots
He had a Great chance
fact of the matter is, its true. Arum not cottos team wanted to put cotto inthe ring with floyd...shall i post Arums quote?
I have no doubt in my mind that Arum wanted the fight for Cotto, He wanted a big fight that would elevate him and thats why he wouldnt have mind putting Cotto in with Mayweather and Oscar.
Nah i doubt it, But that fight should have happen right after Cotto beat Mosley, It would have been great to see Mayweather against a prime, fresh and undefeated Cotto.
Not a chance in hell, it would be like Pbf/Gatti
Not true. Unlike Gatti(RIP), Cotto has good enough technical skills to make it competitive, and add to the fact that he throws combos. We can't predict the outcome of fantasy fights, but i'd pick Floyd to win it all the way. He's just a much quicker puncher, accurate, and more technically skilled than Cotto.

Possibly. Depends on Floyd's current boxing/physical status.
It's common knowledge Arum didn't want to make Cotto-Mayweather for whatever reason. Cotto was ringside for the Gatti-PBF fight...he didn't want anything to do with Mayweather.
This made me laugh.
Floyd would have taken that fight years ago if he was confident about it. But floyd would have ask to remove the shishkabob out of cotto's diet to make it happen.
The KEY here,,, this fight should have happened YEARS ago and over with. At this point, we are talking what COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA have happened.

Cotto, to me, attempts to do what a boxer like Mayweather does to near perfection -control distance, pace, angles, adjustments, and timing. If Cotto is a boxer than Mayweather is an artist at this stuff.
Cotto stops to take a picture, Mayweather would time him. He would also control the distance and angles so that Cotto would have no available target. Inside fighting also benefits Floyd, who is a better inside fighter than some give him credit for -remember Hatton -the guy whose forte was inside fighting?
I believe this bout would be a complete mismatch.
cotto has good punching power well has he lol????? manny didnt seem to care :D
floyd has too much skills for him..cotto is a b level fighter who likes to take the knee.
