Wlad refuses to give UK Tickets for Haye bout

David Haye's world heavyweight title fight with Wladimir Klitschko will go ahead despite a row over tickets. The unification bout between Britain's WBA holder Haye and Ukraine's IBF and WBO champion Klitschko is scheduled to take place in Hamburg on 2 July. The dispute is over ticket allocations and German fans getting first choice. "The fight is on but the Klitschko brothers are giving me a headache over the tickets for my travelling fans," Haye told the Sunday Mirror. "I have given in to every single demand that they have made and they keep moving the goalposts." "I'm not going to roll over and let them get their way with the tickets - I want a fair allocation and at good prices. My fans have been loyal and I don't want a *single one to be disappointed this time." The contracts for the contest at Hamburg's 57,000-capacity Imtech Arena have been agreed, but two press conferences, the first in Hamburg on Tuesday and the second in London on Wednesday, have been cancelled leading to speculation that the fight is in jeopardy. However, Haye's trainer and manager Adam Booth has laughed off those suggestions and is flying to Germany this week to resolve the issue. Haye had been due to fight Klitschko in June 2009 but he was forced to withdraw with an injury. If British people want to buy tickets they can easily buy them from the exact same outlets as the Klitschko fans will. There is no possible way for Klitschko to lock out British buyers. What is happening here is Haye wants to be allotted X amount of tickets at a discounted price for his promotional outfit that he can then turn around and sell for profit to his own fans to make even more money off their backs. If I was a Haye fan I would be a little bit pissed off about that. The Haye fans can probably get their tickets cheaper if they buy from a German dealer than have to suffer the Hayemaker Promotion mark up of 40% on face value.

As it turned out, it was actually a misunderstanding about the different TAXES ON TICKETS in the UK and Germany. Booth didn't understand the different tax systems. But Bonte explained it to Booth and it has been worked out, the fight is ON for July 2. There will be a press conference with Haye and Wlad in Germany on Monday. dam...as soon as I posted...I said to myself, it must have something to do with the taxes...hope they can square that out....dont want this fight to get scratched AGAIN!!!

i want tunney to see this (freedom) and all the klit fans, lets see how they excuse this IF...again IF this is true....Wlad is acting like a kid....in a 60,000 plus arena I think thats a wack number of tickets for the UK fans...smh....I hope they can work this out for the sake of the fans...I REALLY do!!!

British fans are among the most vocal and I feel actually become part of the fight with their chanting in unison. I can see the Klitschkos being absolute control freaks, and Haye is at least appearing like a live underdog with his image in the media.

would Haye really bring more than 5,000 fans over to Germany? That's a lot of people spending a lot of money. And it's not like it's known to be a fun getaway. I doubt more than 5,000 Brits will travel.

really?! im certain i read an article on here not to long ago by boente saying the fight can be anywhere in europe, but not england. And just because wlad is the champion does not mean he can deny his opponents a fair share of tickets. anything less than 10% is wlad taking the piss. Link? As I said, Wlad was willing to fight at Stamford Bridge but Haye failed to deliver it. Believe me, Haye wants the fight in Germany too because he'll make more money. Hes just spinning it in the media that hes had to give in to "demands".

They are just inevitabilities. Wlad is the Champion. Wlad has never refused to fight in England. The fight won't be called off for anything. Not allowing tickets to be available through Haye is not good sportsman type behaviour on Wlad's part. I expected better from him. You obviously don't keep up with the news, Haye even said if wlad did not get his doctor and so on, the fight would not have happened as he would not have signed. Proof? look at the fight, wlad will choose gloves, fight is in germnya, wlad will choose docs and will come first etc as well as the rest of the stupid things. if wlad did not get that, the ***** would have pulled out Must be true then. Nowhere does it say Wlad threatened to cancel the fight if he didnt get his "demands". And they arent even "demands" because they are just standard things that should happen anyway. Haye has spun that well in the media. You are making things up as usual.
