It's been 1 year since Edwin valero killed his wife and "hanged himself"
I remember he began to really grow on me with his style and I remember his death like it was yesterday. I'm still shocked at how it all ended
I remember reading about how he killed himself last year and I couldn't believe it. Last year was a bad year in boxing in terms of boxers getting killed for bullsh*t reasons
Youre right, how come nobody EVER talks of SRR's bad deeds?! No, he's PROTECTED, since he's ATG nr.1, but less great fighters are scum when they do same stuff. Thats such bs. I'm not saying Valero shouldn't have gone to jail, but it was a great loss to the sport that he hanged himself, if he did.
I'm sorry, when did Sugar Ray Robinson kill his wife? And no one defends him or the multiple scum that have populated the sport of boxing. You people are acting like there's some great tragedy in scum like Valero no longer being alive. The sport of boxing will have a hundred Valeros again.
RIP El Inca and his wife.People on here love the likes of SRR who beat and pimped out women Monzon and Mike Tyson yet they seem to get a pass maybe not Monzon as much as the other 2 but he was as a violent a character outside the ring as Valero and he still doesnt seem to catch the same **** as Valero.

why did u say "hanged himself"
As if theres some conspiracy theory
I have a friend from Venezuela who did NOT like Valero (he told me a long time ago he was a bad dude who took drugs and my friend is not a fan of the Hugo tattoo on his chest), but he said no one in Venezuela believes he killed himself. He said the gov't had aligned themselves so closely with Valero- Hugo appearing with him in public, them helping him with legal problems- that the gov't was very embarrassed by Valero killing his wife. He said most people believe he was murdered in jail, either by a prison guard or by a prisoner with on their instructions.

Bro, the man killed his own wife. I think the hate is justified.
I'm not saying that they aren't seen as role models, simply that you have accept and understand that besides greatness at their craft, they are still human beings with human flaws.
I guess what i'm saying is that if you make someone a role model, don't expect them to live up to that title, because they're job isn't to be looked up to and live their lives as role models, but to simply be the best at what they do, besides that they just might be the worse kind of human garbage and that's not role model material in my opinion.
Again, you are repeating yourself but just dismissing reality. They are role models whether you like to believe it or not, simply because of the fame we give them.
If we didn't put them on the pedestals they are on, I would agree but we literally worship these people (not me just speaking in generalizations).
They are the equivalent to royalty in todays world, they are the Kings and Queens of today so to speak.
It's inevitable, they are what they are and when they make mistakes, they will be judged for it.
it's a damn shame he went crazy.
I don't care what anyone says he had a fascinating personality and was damn exciting in the ring. Pac vs Valero could have been an awesome 5-6 round fight that most definitely would have happened.
bam bam would smash that puto...WAR BAM BAM
I get your reasoning but it's just not realistic. In a perfect world, I would agree with you 100% but the reality is when we put these people on the cover of magazines, movies, commercials etc....they impact people's lives, especially children.
I grew up as a teenager in the 80's, Michael Jordan was bigger than life man, everyone wanted to play like him , be like him and dress like him.
If he came out with a shoe, everyone had to get it. If he wore a certain type of clothing, you would see kids do the same and if he did something against the law or outside of basketball, that was imitated as well.
Hero's are put up on a pedestal because of what they do in the sports world but also because of the amount of attention we give them. Now more than ever with all the media we have that we didn't have 20 years ago.
These guys are hero's, role models whether they like it or not. Think about how heated this place gets when Pac fans and Mayweather fans go at it....you think they aren't seen as role models? Come on..........
