Victor Ortiz, The Newly Crown WBC Champion has many roads to stardom now that he is in the Premiere division in boxing.
I have been thinking about the possible match ups Victor Ortiz can possible have in the next 1 year and a half, and I put together a list of possible opponents.
Ortiz vs. JMM (Classic)
Ortiz vs. Rios
Ortiz vs. Berto 2
Ortiz vs. Khan
Ortiz vs Madiana
Ortiz vs. Peterson 2 (12 rounds)
Ortiz vs. Cotto
Ortiz vs. Paul Williams :boxing: (FIREWORKS)
Ortiz vs. Devon Alexander
Ortiz vs. Bradley
Ortiz vs. Cheater ass Margarito
Ortiz vs Mosley
Ortiz vs. Chavez Jr (Mexican American vs Mexican)
Ortiz vs. Matthew Hattow
Would would you guys like to see Ortiz fight next??I think HBO should really 24/7 his next fight also if he fights a JMM, or Khan.
I wouldn't mind him fighting Berto again. That was hell of a fight! Ortiz fighting maidana at 147 would be cool, but I think Ortiz would destroy him within 5 at 147
I agree. Make it happen.

that won't happen
rios is at 135 and ortiz at 147
i dont see rioz going str8 to 147 anytime soon and ortiz won't fight under 147 after his performance with berto
I hear what you're saying, I'm not saying right away of course -
Realistically I'm sure Rios will end up moving up in weight (hasn't he been having issues with making 135?)and Ortiz just moved up to 147, it's not like he's been there for a long time already. When Rios came in as a late replacement on the Pac/Margarito undercard, didn't he end up coming in around 142lbs.? I know he didn't look his greatest in that fight against Lowther and it was short notice but Rios can handle the weight IMO. I just think for personal reasons these two would make a hellof an exciting fight, and I don't think the weight between the two would be a huge issue some where down the line.
Would rather see those two fight at 160lbs (JOKING) then to even mention the name Matthew Hatton in the same sentence as Vicor Ortiz. WTH? I don't get where that came from?
Horus, I'm curious as to why you would even have Matthew Hattons name on your list of people you'd be interested in seeing Ortiz fight? That seems kindof out of left field IMO.... and your actual poll for people to vote for who they would like to see Ortiz fight next was missing Ortiz vs Rios. I would like to see those two fight and am interested to see who else would be interested.
Why would he need a tune up?
Well, that's how promoters operate these days. They won't give you the big fights right away and milk their cows first as much as possible. Nobody likes it but that's how it's always been. Look at what happened to the potential Lopez-Gamboa matchup that should have been made right away. Fukking Arum had to do something sleazy. GBP will do the same thing, believe me.
You're asking as if fans have any choice. :boxing:
in my opinion Ortiz NEEDS to fight maidana after many people believe he quit, just to get rid of many of the critics who go on and on about that, if he were to come back and knock out maidana it would silence many of them, plus it would be a good fight.
He should rematch Berto. He took his belt in a great fight, he should make that happen again. They should put this fight on a PPV as an undercard to the next Mayweather or Pacquiao fight (wont happen but this is a perfect undercard fight)
Sounds good to me
You can cancel all toprank fighters. Other then that
It's either
Alexander
Miadana 2
1 Paul has a easy 1 and then the trilogy
2 I don't want to see Mosley no more.
3 Bradley has a fight with Kahn
4. Hatton. Hell no
What is your knock against a Paul Williams fight?
:dunno:
Ortiz will likely take a tune up fight first before diving into another huge fight. (I'd like to see Marquez, but Marquez will avoid Ortiz at all costs.) Rios vs Ortiz will be a breathtaking fight if it can be made. Maidana 2 doesn't appeal to me at this point. Bradley is another huge fight if it can be made. The rest are either mismatches or produce the same result and some are nearly impossible to make, so I don't see the point of adding them to the list.

Yes. That's the point of my previous post. If it's impossible to make, no point in adding them to the list. GBP will not dive in to the Maidana 2 right away. Alexander might be the most likely contender for next Ortiz's fight.
Whats wrong with
Ortiz vs. JMM
Ortiz vs. Rios

Maidana revenge... then Khan.
Then the loser of Pac and Floyd... then the winner. Then a super star will be born and boxing will live to see another day.

These seem more likely. Ortiz looks like he can perform well at 147-154.
yet p4p manny might fight him soon.Sometimes we must look at the actual physique of fighters instead of what weight they can make. I think Pac-JMM at 147 is BS and Pac is smaller than Ortiz, so imagine JMM challenging Ortiz for his 147 title. JMM got dropped by Katsidis and Diaz dazed him, Ortiz would knock him out of the ring into a chair in the stands.
