Should Berto get Roach or Mayweather Sr. as a trainer

IMO Stewart as Berto's trainer is a big FVCK NO!!!! Mayweather Sr could do some real good things with Berto. McGirt would be good for Berto as well. I think John David Jackson could work well with Berto. I want to see someone give Michael Moorer a shot at training them. Moorer seemed like he could give some real good advice. Roach liked Moorer just said Moorer's attutide rubbed people the wrong way.

Berto has some crazy talent but he obviously needs some help to get his style to the next level. If he hired Roach and focused on his offense I think it would be very beneficial. Roach already works with Khan and Manny who have great speed and he helped their careers alot. Imo if Berto fixes his footwork up and applies more pressure he could be so much more dangerous. Instead of now where he just lays back and tries to land that big right hand to end a fight. Not to mention Alex Ariza could definetly help his conditioning. If he hired Mayweather Sr. he could fix up his footwork and defense and be a much more complete fighter. I like Berto cause he is crazy strong and fast. But he isnt going to get by on solely that with the elite fighters. He needs some change. Sorry if someone already made a thread like this i havent seen one though. I think Roach is overated,he's match maker not a trainer IMAO.His fighters are not really good but carefully matched.They have too many flaws so Mayweather is better for Berto because he throws good shots but he needs to learn how to defend himself.Mayweather will make him a more complete fighter

Working off the jab with a no nonsense trainer would do him wonders. Though none of that matters if Berto's BROTHER stay's in his corner. Maybe a Florida based trainer like Goosen. i agree it should be someone from florida. idk why but i get the feeling berto would be better of staying home where hes comftorable and not fly out to some other trainer or not getting him in the gym on a daily basis (or close to). goosen is the best trainer in florida imo, mcgirt is very good at improving someones overall game without messing up their style and berto has a very special style. orlando cuellar is a very good trainer aswell. shields would be perfect for berto imo but hes based in texas. either one of those 4.

I've always thought Berto looked top heavy, he needs to focus on conditioning his legs, as Khan showed v Maidana, if you have a bad chin but strong legs, you can recover from adversity. If Berto had had the strength in his legs to recover from the first round he would have stood a much better chance, you can't always blame the trainer. Saying that, he does need to consider whether he has the right people around him, as well as work on his defense and footwork, conditioning his lgs better has to be the priority as far as I'm concerned though, dude has chicken legs.

Its not his trainers fault but Bertos footwork and defense is a mess

Nazim Richardson. Pernell Whitaker. Mayweather Sr. Roger Mayweather. Berto has INSANE reflexes. He could be very good defensively if he applied hiself in that area. He also needs to learn to use the ring better. At this stage in his career though it would be hard for him to have a complete style shift to defensively. He would benefit alot to tighten it up and not get hit so much, especially on the inside.

I like Shields,or Stewart for his style..But Berto has real stamina issues,he better fix that fast..

If i were berto, I'd sign up with mcgirt who is based out of florida and I'd hire a good strength and conditioning coach

He should get Floyd Sr. Berto's offensive is good and very explosive, but he opens up very much to get bombarded like he did last night. Roach would improve him no doubt but Sr. would do a better job I think.

roach is a better fit for berto. berto will never be a defensive fighter.
