This is a snipet of Floyd vs Hatton..I'll disect it pointing out when floyd is landing effective shots....mean while listen to the commentator...
0:02 Quick right
0:05 UpperCut
016 left hook
0:18 Elbow
0:27 Left Jab
0:32-0:35 body work
0:50 left right combo
0:52 left hook
0:55 snapping uppercutt

Floyd is scared of failure so he'd rather not try. Nothing wrong with that, just dont expect to be considered a high ATG and especially not GOAT. He does, not only that but he shiits on those who have achieved more than he has. That ain't cool.
Watch round 8 when he damn near killed Hatton;something I noticed this board is bout racist 95% of Floyds fans have red bars and Mannys fans say anything they want s**t doesn't add up.
the turnbuckle killed hatton, not floyd.
The TS is an effin' moron.
The only credit Floyd gets is hit skills. The reason why people think so highly of Floyd is cuz' of his skills. Is not cuz' of his resume that's for damn sure.
Even though his resume is not bad, is not the resume that guy with his type of skills should have. And, that is why he gets criticize cuz' with his skills his resume should be so much better.
Toney suffered from laziness and boredom IMO. I'm in no way saying he's the ideal fighter but if he had the discipline like Hagler or even Pac or Floyd he could have been a top-tier ATG.
i definitely agree with that.
I'm sure it's been said already, but the one thing that Floyd is always given credit for is his skills.
In fact, that's probably the reason boxing fans and critics give him such a hard time. He has all the skills in the world, talks a big game, but hardly backs it up.
If Floyd had no skills and talked a lot of shi.t, not that much would care.
But Floyd does have it and boxing fans recognize that. So when he boasts about how good he is, we want to see it.
So YES Floyd does get credit for his skills.
But a better question would be..
Does Floyd give CREDIT to his fans for getting him where he is today?
I highly disagree...Mayweather's skills are highly touted and don't think it is being questioned (generally). He is a freak of nature with his skills and his defensive (specifically) is uncannily very hard - if not- almost impossible to penetrate (perhaps Pacquiao or a more polished Amir Khan due to speed and combos)...
But what is being questioned is Mayweather's heart and quality of fights he has fought...
SKILLS? No....
while i agree that only idiots question his skills, james toney is hardly the ideal boxer. sure he has balls and skills, skills that rival floyds in many ways. but his commitment to being great was never really there either.
oh yea and tc, stop whining. the onus should have been on floyd to prove how great he is. for whatever reason, he didnt wanna do that as much as many would have liked. it is what it is...this from a floyd fan.

I agree.. I tried hating on this guy, but I realized I was just playing myself... Hating on Floyd is like hating on Jordan.. Pure greatness.
Im sorry but what makes jordan is that he takes on all challenges.
Floyd can be compared to somebody like Lebron James. Both are great but are scared of challenges.
giving floyd credit for his skills is one thing. claiming floyd as the greatest offensive fighter all time or even at par with the great offensive fighters is plain stupidity and severe fanboyism.
I never said it was legal...I just said elbow, pointing out that floyd hit him with an elbow..I mean it did happen did it not?
Credit to you, your Royal highness Prince Charles. If only Cortez saw those elbows that you and i see.
why did you list an elbow under effective punches? proves you think whatever he does is great even if it's not even legal.

Nobody here has ever knocked Floyds skill. My issue is he's basically James Toney minus balls but plus a speech impediment...oh yea minus a hundred or do pounds too
How are they not questioning his skills? I never said the whole boxing community questions his skills. I said floyd gets no credit, listen to the commentators? WHile floyd is picking Hatton off, they are talking about another fight.
"Floyd doesnt put his punches together, he's only throwing the straight right, no body shots"...he is clearly doing all of the above, so I ask...what fight were they watching...
