Seriously. Robert Guerrero and Zab Judah while Morales takes on Marcos Maidana and Barrera is probably gonna fight Brandon Rios? I say even if JMM wins a fourth belt off of Judah, if Barrera or Morales win either of those fights or if a miracle happens and Morales happens to beat Maidana and Barrera beats Rios at the same time they should both go down greater than JMM.
People keep saying Judah is this worthy opponent, but do people not remember how he was getting his ass handed to him by Lucas Matthyse? I think both JMM-Judah and JMM-Guerrero are mismatches. Not interested in any of those fights.
LOL Marquez clearly pulled out of Khan fight for a 4th world title because he is a hungry young lion who has a good chance of beating him. I bet he was so happy when old beat down Judah got a paper belt...
I know there were some circumstances of why Beristain made JMM turn down that fight like GBP saying what Khan's future was and he thought they were using JMM as a stepping stone. But what kind of guy who cares about fighting the best out there would turn down Khan but at the same time go after Zab Judah when people keep using Top Rank as an excuse of him not fighting a unification with Brandon Rios? Now like I said, I think Khan isn't as good as people make him out to be. And I think he was a cunt hair away from getting knocked out by Maidana. But he's still more dangerous than Judah is.
You serious? Rios might be better but he still needs to take on the title holders before he's even considered by Marquez. Rioz should be fighting Guerrero & Kasiditis instead of old ass MAB if you ask me. He should be the taking on the winner of Soto-Antillion. The Marquez-Rioz fight should be about a year away from happening in my book.
It's like Kirkland before he went to jail. Just had 2 impressive outings beating up Vera and Julio. Yet he was going to fight Angulo before he took on the likes of Williams or Sergio. He's still a strong prospect so the best in each division shouldn't be fighting every little prospect they see or Pac would be fighting Mike Jones. Jone has to beat up Berto/Ortiz winner before he's considered for Pac.
Are you frigging serious? You're calling Brandon Rios a prospect? I like a lot of your other posts on other topics, but you are dropping the ball here bud. I think fighting MAB is kind of a cherry picking move too, but the dude has already tried to fight Soto and all those other guys and even called out JMM.
What my opinion is, is that Arum probably wants JMM to give Rios a shot because he thinks Rios may have a good chance of beating him, and that in a lot of ways I think could be a tactic to keep Pacquiao from taking a tough fight. But I really do think Rios also has something to do with JMM not going in the Top Rank direction.
What the hell does Zab Judah bring to the table other than a paper title that he won off some bum who's best win is sorry ass Kendall Holt?
To me, JMM must not want the fight with Pacquiao that bad or he really would go with Arum and Top Rank.
I dont see how anyone is *****ing about Judah-Marquez(if it is happening). Its a damn good matchup.
I might even favor Judah.
I would love to know how it's a mismatch. Judah's speed will be damn near unstoppable by a 140 pound Marquez IMO. People conveniently forget that Marquez would be moving up again, and seem to think he's going to be the Pacquiao Marquez.
Both Morales and Barrera are ATG. Marquez is just a HOF fighter, so I can't see how he is or will ever be on those guys levels....no offense, just calling it how I see it.
I know the Top Rank thing could be an excuse for him not fighting Rios and all that. But why don't he just sign with Top Rank to begin with instead of going after these weak ass bottom feeders like Guerrero and Zab.
I'm just saying that Barrera and Morales are taking the tougher fights, and if people want to try to prove me wrong, they are welcome to. Barrera as much as I've kind of disliked him for certain aspects about his personality and some stinkers he's put up is doing JMM's heavy lifting at 135 by fighting Rios. Katsidis was pretty tough and I think he'll beat Guerrero anyway. But it's still the idea that JMM shouldn't even consider him as an opponent, which is why I gave him props for shunning him when the fight was offered.
I just think Rios is better than Katsidis and is definitely better than Juan Diaz even though I think Katsidis was a pretty good win given the circumstances.
What makes Judah dangerous? Losing to some bum until landing a big punch? Lol. Maybe I'm being harsh by referring to Mabuza as that, but what did the guy ever do except win a vacant belt that Alexander vacated? Beating Kendall Holt.
Marquez is ripe for the picking. If Katsidis can drop him so solidly with a left hand, I definitely think Judah could do the same.
besides, Marquez has lost to southpaws that use their feet in the past...Norwood and John. you can say he was 'robbed', but theres still no doubt he had difficulty. oh yea, and Marquez would be moving up in weight too.
I think that Judah with Pernell in his corner will beat Marquez, even though his prime has probably passed.
Right. So I guess that's why he didn't fight Khan when it was offered to him. Barrera fought him in England. I'm just giving the reason why a lot of people respect Barrera and Morales more than JMM. And even though I think Khan is overrated, I think he's worlds better than Zab Judah is.
This can be said about any fighter out there.
Barrera fought him in England because he was in no position to make demands. Whether you like it or not, Marquez has earned his right to chose his opponents because he has faced his mandatory matches at 135 and has done so by putting master performances.
marquez is moving up in weight to fight a 140 fighter and ur b*tching??? LOL
he doing it to get a another division title and also to put himself in line to fight
bradley or khan
if u really have a problem with that than u should just quit watching boxing

Ice, whats wrong with this fight? 1st of all its very intriguing but most of all, its about the setup of other things. The #1 thing I hate about boxing fans is that they want everything "now". If he beats Zab then that means he has a title at 140, he gets use to the weight before taking on a big dog, and if he fights Pac next then Zab wouldve been a great Southpaw tuneup for it. I bet anything if he wins then he's fighting Pac or someone like a Bradley, Kahn, or some big name at 140.
JMM has done too much and fought too many top guys for his fans to be turning on him over this when you know its just a lead to something bigger next. Not only that but again, thats a very good & hard fight. Whats wrong with Zab? I actually wouldnt take it because its like a lose lose situation. Zab is good enough & big enough to where if he won, it wouldnt be a shock at all. Its very dangerous with not much reward but he gets a title, a big name on his belt, use to the weight, and becomes ready for nearly anyone around the weight class after that
Right. So I guess that's why he didn't fight Khan when it was offered to him. Barrera fought him in England. I'm just giving the reason why a lot of people respect Barrera and Morales more than JMM. And even though I think Khan is overrated, I think he's worlds better than Zab Judah is.
you act as if marquez hasn't been taking any tough fights in the last few years. If he beats judah hes not going to retire, hes gonna try and make a statement in that division, hopefully by fighting the winner of bradley vs khan or even avenging morales's loss to maidana.
1. Barrera (if he does fight rios) and Morales are not going to win.
2. Marquez vs Guerrero would be the outcome of two things that cannot be blamed on Marquez,
a) Guerrero beats Katsidis
b) Guerrero becomes Marquez' mandatory fight.
3. Marquez' lightweight career is much more impressive than Morales/Barrera.
4. If Marquez re-signs with GBP you can't blame GBP boxers for not fighting against Top Rank's fighters.
#4 is a good one. top rank wont allow any of there fighters fight against GB fighters. blame promoters...i dont think its fair that marquez has no choice but to go to top rank to get these fights (thats the problem with boxing).

I think JMM-Judah is an intriguing fight. Judah seems to be going through a revival and JMM is still top. JMM moving up again, after getting dominated the last time he moved up I think is cool

I've liked JMM more than Barrera and Morales lately. Not anymore though. | BoxingScene Community
