Give me a good what if in boxing that could have changed the rankings and everything as it is today. I'll go first...
What if Cotto beat Margarito. Cotto gets the Oscar De La Hoya fight to make him a big name boxer, if it is at 147 he probably wins and would set up a mega fight between Floyd and Cotto. Likewise, Pacquiao never gets the DLH fight and probably takes a couple more years for him to work his way up the weight divisions and get the attention he gets today.
what if valero wasnt a drug addict and wife beater
this is the reason why I came into the thread, I basically made a thread about this a long time ago basically saying what if they would have lived longer (Valero, Sanchez) and all these trolls on here got butt hurt saying they shouldn't be compared and bla bla bla, I was just saying, what if also....
What if that gangster didnt kill Mike Tysons pigeon when he was 11?
LMAO Hilarious!!!!
what if morales never accepted rematches. With barrera and pac.
The smartest thing I've ever seen this troll write....
Cus Damato was the great boxer and if he lived then he would right his own history....
I proud to say his name because of his extra ordinary work in boxing...
wow, there's a lot of what if questions...
what if ali never got his belt stripped and years taken off his career?
what if marciano never retired when he did?
what if cus d'amato never passed away when he did?
what if pacquiao signed with GBP instead of being on Top Rank?
what if salvador sanchez never died in that car accident?
what if edwin valero never had mental problems?
what if jose luis castillo got the win in his first fight against floyd mayweather?

if cotto beat marg, dlh vs cotto would be guaranteed at 154 lbs. I see it as a close fight with cotto winning a SD.
wifebeater would continue to duck cotto and marg.
HBO would then try to make pac vs wifebeater. wifebeater would take the fight as he likes beating up on smaller fighters. at this time, pac would take the smaller split of the purse and wifebeater would not demand OST. Wifebeater would totally underestimate pac and pac would outwork wifebeater for a decision win.
wifebeater will have an immediate rematch clause, but will not exercise it, instead retiring in shame. while retired, he beats the mother of his children, pokes security guards in the eye, defaults on loans, and continues to have tax problems. he and the wifebeater clan also accuses pac of using PEDs because of the loss. everyone will laugh it off as sour grapes.
then Arum would put cotto in with pac and pac would destroy cotto.
pac then goes on to fight marg and clottey.
as wifebeater is going bankrupt because of his lifestyle, wifebeater returns once a year to fight overmatched opponents like jmm and spaddy and matt hatton and then return to vacationing.
what if Pac didnt fight Barrera?
what if Floyd didnt retire after the dela hoya fight? would he have fought top guys in welterweight? it was the hottest division.
What if that gangster didnt kill Mike Tysons pigeon when he was 11?
lol sounds funny when you read that but actually its a good question. i like mikes show but since it has short commercials the show feels extremely long.....interesting how i complain about commercials but whens there is less commercials i still complain.
what if billy collins jr didnt die
What if Salvador Sanchez didn't die?
He'd be an alcoholic like he was before he died?
What if Castillo would've received the W for his first fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr?
What if Bob Arum died 10 years ago?
What if Don King died 10 years ago?
BTW i like this thread....i'm sure we could come up with many "what ifs"....hopefully it makes great conversations but knowing how individuals are on here...i kinda doubt it.
What if Gerald mcclellan survived the Nigel Benn fight, then what if RJJ VS G-man had happened?.
What if Bernard and G-man thought Calzaghe? early in his career? We really missed out on some wars.
what if the judges gave the first mayweather - castillo fight to castillo. would floyd have fought cotto, margarito or pacquiao, because he wouldnt have to risk losing his '0'?

what if Angelo Dundee had let Cassius Clay quit like he had wanted to after sonny liston rubbed **** in his eyes. Would he have been given a rematch? Not if he had gone ahead and changed his name to Ali he wouldn't ... what happens then ... no ALi? No greatest of all time there is no way he would have been given a title fight. Not for a very long while at least
Right, but at least, now Douglas would've had both Tyson and Holyfield under his resume back-to-back.
good point .... it would be like jim braddock going on to beat joe louis after baer people would be suddenly thinking "what the f*ck was that guy on and where can I get it!"
