Lets make this right, I didnt hear Bute calling Joe out?? Joe never ducked anyone, If you made enough noise and you was credible you got a shot at him...If you was looking to make money then after Joe finished with you then you become just another boxer..He turned up to fight period..War War no running around the ring lol He was the boss in there
lucian bute is still a nobody, why would calzaghe waste his time on him? His last 2 wins were against BHop and RJJ, where do you even go from there? Heavy weight?

doesn't look so dead to me. calzaghe never had quality fighters like this in his division. 175 was just as scary. the hopkins rematch which he ducked, chad dawson who he wanted no part of and guys like glen johnson and jean pascal.
Calzaghe said in the last week he did not know who Froch, the new WBC super-middleweight champion, was — but he has done some research in the meantime. "Yeah, I Googled him," he said. "I've seen him but the guy doesn't mean anything. The guy don't mean ****. The guy he fought the other day , he didn't look any good.
"For me I think that's an easy fight, I'd knock him out inside four rounds because he's slow… The Americans won't pay one penny for him, they're not interested in him. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is."
the americans won't pay one penny for him that's why showtime keeps giving him million dollar paydays? real sharp boxing knowledge joe!
Yeah he said that 2½ year ago. Lying a bit? :bryce:
yes he has but you don't pay attention.
froch gets about 750 000 U.S. dollars just under half a million British pounds per super 6 fights lol you don't pay attention
froch already had the wbc belt. it's nice to have facts on your side instead of just making things up like you do.

Joe Calzaghe announces retirement from boxing
fighting robin reid huh? froch becomes a viable opponent and a huge fight in the uk and calzaghe retires.
Froch was young, tough and hungry ... not joe's cup of tea ... and thats exactly it FROCH beat Pascal why didn't Joe? I like joe but some people are seriously distorting the facts to make him seem like the greatest thing since sugar ray robinson. He was a good fighter but I mean really how many top boxers did he beat in their prime? ... kessler ... lacey (yeah struggling already) ... Robin reed (and that was another tough one) ... jeez he beat an old Eubank an older Hopkins (barely) and an ancient jones ... he had a long run as champ and fair play to him for that but even then he never fought Otke, just a long line of manditorys, hardly ever left the UK, never went out of his way to make a really big fight until the two lads were totally over the hill.

Joe's last fight was before Froch fought Pascal. Froch was a SMW also. He didnt want to move up. It wasnt a big fight worldwide. Yet you spin it like it would've been Leonard coming back to fight Hagler....so sad.
Froch was fighting Robin Reid at the time Joe retired. No one knew who Dirrell and Ward were. Abraham was fighting at MW.
But Daggum will spin it like Joe was mandated to fight them all.

entering the last round "you've gotta stop him!" -calzaghe's trainer
post fight "i beat the shi-t out of hopkins!" -calzaghe
why is calzaghe trying to insult our intelligence? does he know we saw the fight?
He was fighting on foreign soil... You never know what to expect if it goes to the cards...
But yeah Calzaghe beat the **** out of Hopkins... Watching that fight still makes me smile
million dollar paydays?...what million dollar paydays froch has not had no million dollar payday

Unknown unproved would be better adjectives. There was no incentive for him to postpone his retirement for any of those people.
The only fight was potentially Chad Dawson. The rest is just revisionist history

calzaghe spent ten years fighting bums and recycled fighters then took a couple tough fights and ok he's finished! it must be another coincidence he retired when a bunch of good fighters were arriving.

maybe if he'd spent more time landing shots and less time showboating early on he wouldn't have been out on his feet in the 12th
