Lou Direct Messaged me on twitter after I told him that most people on NSB want to see Pirog-Martinez.

No, normal people don't even know who Pirog is. F##kin boxing NERDS (and I am one) don't pay the F##kin bills!
this guys a liar plain and simple. he's trying to spin things so martinez doesn't look like the ducker that he is. dzinziruk demanded 850k to fight martinez. would pirog who made 50k against jacobs want that much? i seriously doubt it. they would rather pay a safe opponent more than pay a dangerous opponent less.
Lou is just hoping he'd get a big money fight for Sergio (cotto/pac/may/etc) because he's on the last leg of his career. But with DiBella as his promoter, I don't expect Martinez to get that much bigger anytime soon. I don't know what he's talking about.
Most "people" have no idea who Sergio Martinez is either.
Lets all go to work tomorrow and ask everyone if they know who Sergio is, then tell Lou that HBO shouldn't show Martinez because no one's heard of him.Damn you guys are tripping on Martinez hard lately. Ill bet you any thing the amount of people that know who know Martinez LARGELY outweighs the amount of people who know Pirog.
Pirog is largely unproven and he is basically still a prospect because him knocking out another prospect should of never been for a title but GBP pulled string like in the Alvarez fight...So if Martinez beat him its really does nothing much. Serhiy was more proven than Pirog. Also they just fought an unknown Euro why are they going to fight another one right after, they are trying to make money. When is Paquiao going to fight Dejan Zavec thats the question yall...
I would have to agree with him, this is the only forum that actually talks about Pirog, he is not overrated but it is people on this Forum that OVERRATE HIM because he KO'd Jacobs but Jacobs wasn't a TOP FIGHTER, he was basically a young up and coming prospect

He talks about Sturm a lot in this recent video.
Nice candid interview with DiBella. He's outspoken (as should every promoter be), charismatic and has keen understanding of the business. I however, didn't like him calling Kirkland a "degenerate." That was degrading comment and reallly unwarranted..
Pirog is way more popular then Dzinziruk. clearly ducking.! Pirog fought and beat the supposed to be future boxing star Daniel Jacobs. i guess because Pirog is actually a middleweight and Dzinziruk is Jr. Middleweight. so easier fight for Sergio!

LMAO!
What?
Normal people doesnt know Sergio Martinez either. His name sounds like a Latino actor.
Exactly what I ment. If Lou DiBella/Gary Shaw had a chance to even be money hungry as Top Rank/GBP they would do it any opportunity they can.
anyone with an ounce of a brain would jump at any opportunity to make millions of dollars.

what a jerk.
It's the boxing nerds who eventually build up the super-stars by telling the casual fans about them.
I don't see why everyone is worked up. Anyone who's followed boxing the last 3 decades know boxing is geared towards the mass crowds and not the small nerds or hardcores. EVERY business is like that. We as hardcore fans have very little say or influence on anything. You ***** and complain about Lou's comments but you guys are the same idiots who stream fights or download them the next day instead of paying for the ppv or going to a fight. The casuals will forever be the main focus of boxing whether you like it or not. They are the ones that pay the bills. Casuals out number hardcore fans probably 1,000-1. Promoters don't need hardcore fans to spread the word. that's what advertising and promotions do. I'm sure a commercial and billboards can reach alot more people than you're co workers and friends.
Hardcore fans never made any boxer rich. It's always been the casuals that people $$$ in fighters pocket and DLH is a perfect example of that. he had hundreds of thousands of girls who knew nothing about boxing, but would tune in every oscar fight because "hes hot" and "he fights good"
He's kind of right though. I consider myself a boxing nerd and I only order 1 ppv a year, stream the rest heh
I wouldn't pay for a pirog fight, not sold on him yet. I'd pay for martinez vs pac/floyd or martinez vs jean pascal after he beats bhop

If you're able to contact Dibella again, mention Felix Sturm...
He should be admiring those "nerds" cause those are the ones that have been talking about Sergio. Their word of mouth made more people realize who he is.
I think if this fuckface was in Arum's shoes he would be a ton worse.
And the funny thing is, we'd still have to sit through Berto Sr's cough, cough Jermaine Taylor's passionless fights with opponents similar to Spinks and Ouma. But HBO thank god forced Taylor to fight big punchers and ditto with Showtime. Now look where he's at. It's bad that his brain is scrambled and all that, but at least we don't have to watch his lame fights anymore.
