its all good :fing02:
Yeah try for 8 rounds to take your opponents head off and even knock him down once , then suddenly decide to take a dive in the 9th.
Pretty impressive to take a dive without falling.
ali v liston

Yeah right. What, Oscar was afraid of breaking his knuckles on BHop's head with all the punches he was landing? Or was he afraid one of BHop's gloves was going to fly off on one of his many misses and hit soomeone in the crowd?

Clearly Paul Briggs versus Danny Green.
I remember in the early 2000's the promoters for Richie Melito Jr were paying his opponents to take dives.
See court case here. http://www.justice.gov/usao/nv/home/textonly/pressrelease_t/november2004/mitchell110804_t.htm
They tried to pay off Smokin Bert Cooper but he wasn't having any of it and blasted out the fraud Melito in a round.
This is a really good article talking about how people aren't taking dives as much anymore, they are just promoting gross mismatches.

I looked up the video to the fight of where Beethoven Scottland was killed in the ring Idk if its true but I guess Mercante Jr was the ref?? And he didn't stop the fight?
Interesting to hear especially after what happened with the fight foreman Cotto fight last year
haye harrison. dont think one punch landed in the first round. haye also said after the fight that he and his friends bet that he would win in the third round
Just say you hate Oscar because he beat Tito and get it over with.
And Tito beat Oscar, buddy. Sounds like to me you're an Oscar nut hugger now. :lol1:
Look, man, I got my opinion and you got yours. I'm not going about this in a childish manner. I don't hate Oscar at all, I actually really liked him, I just honestly felt like he threw that fight.
Just say you hate Oscar because he beat Tito and get it over with.
:lol1:
Assumptions, man. I could care less about Tito. I didn't even watch boxing when they fought. Not all Miguel Cotto fans are Puerto Rican.
The reason why I think Oscar threw the fight was the fact that Bernard became business partners with GBP. I think Oscar sensed that he could make a lot of money with Hopkins fighting for his company.
And the way he reacted to that body shot was just a bit off to me. He was rolling around and slammed his hand into the ground.
If you're gonna mock me, at least you could give the most obvious reason why he would throw the fight and not dumbass reasons a 5 year old comes up with.
Taking dives are not improvised, they're pre-meditated with a business motive. I'm not saying you're wrong or that I'm right, but if you wanna debate my statement, at least be reasonable.
I'm humoring myself actually. Why would I mock you? There was no reason for Oscar to throw the fight. Especially during the fight. Why do you go on the way that you do with nothing more than conspiracy theories? Just say you hate Oscar because he beat Tito and get it over with.
I've watched that punch over and over again and from my perspective it was nothing more then a glancing blow, it never really connected Bernard didn't even turn his punch over on that shot. It certainly was not a hard enough glancing blow to warant the reaction that Oscar put out.
Check out the vid on this thread @ the 32 second mark. You'll see the punch land and Oscar's body ripple from the effect.

De La Hoya vs Trinidad...Oscar was schooling the crap out of Tito round after round then out of no where, Oscar decides not to fight back for 3 rounds...DLH clearly threw the fight.
He threw the last 3 rounds-- not the fight. There's a difference.
