After watching this a few times I don't think Solis took a dive at all. A punch clearly lands on the left side of his head, his left leg goes to jelly and then he falls over, injuring his right leg in the process. If it wasn't a punch from Klitschko I would probably write this off as a dive, but he put both Danny Williams and Herbie Hide with similar razing punches.
It's easy to be cynical, but Solis was clutching his knee after he went down. If you're 6'1" and regularly weighing up to 270lb your knees will give out one day. Perhaps this was the day for Solis.
After the punch lands you can see his left leg wobble, the right leg wobbles, then left leg wobbles again and goes stiff before he falls.
For people doubting a punch exactly like that hurting someone watch Volodymyr vs Chambers that exact same shot KO him cold.
Vitali is no longer the puncher he was 8 years ago. That looked like a slap punch, at the end of the fight you can see Solis limping. No way a slap punch like that can completely daze Solis who's had over 300 amateur fights. None the less it was a pathetic fight as expected.
Could someone please tell me why Solis would take a dive?
He never saw the punch coming, wobbled back and twisted his knee...fight over end of story.
money is usually the reason ppl take dives. with a guy like solis who never shown any real dedication to the sport or drive to be the best it would seem more likely he would pull a tunt liek that.
i dont think he took a dive though, im just saying.
or solis hurt his leg like he indicated? or would vitali know all about that too?
If he hurt his leg then I'm sorry for calling him names. But if there isn't an injury report by next week then I assume he quit.
lol landed on the jaw. tell yourself whatever you want to.
i telling myself what i want to? dude your the one comparing a flush hook thrown with full body rotation to a grazing arm punch.
Whats funny are people are saying it was not a punch that caused it because it was an 'arm punch'. Hello have any of you watched Vitali fight before? He mostly throws arm punches. Check his fight with Williams when he hurts him with a punch from 3 inches away. Vitali Klitschko rarely turns in to his punches.
wtf are u talking about? wlad threw a lead hook, pivoting his feet and turning his hips into the punch and landing flush on the jaw. vitali threw a slapping right, complete armpunch that grazed solis' temple.
i agree solis probably didnt take a dive but its nowhere near the same situation as when wlad KO'd fat eddie. they were both punches, thats about it in terms of what they have incommon.

He landed a punch on the temple, after which Solis grabbed his head, then backed up, and felt down. Whether this was a ko punch or a punch that caused Solis to wobble on his legs and twist one of them is hard to know. I guess we have to find out from Solis.
Exactly, the wobble from the punch is what caused his "leg injury"
Watching up close it looks like a straight up dive, watching the second replay though you see each leg wobble 1 by 1 before he goes backwards towards the ground. Temple shots folks, those ones get you the most.
Naw even Vitali knew that something was up. What convinced me Solis quit is that Vitali got mad because he knew he didn't even hit him that hard. Solis is a waste of space and wasted everyone's time today.

It looked legit. You can clearly see his legs wobble. Looks like his equilibrium was all fukked up. I'd like to see a rematch or something. Solis has very good skill.
