Hard to be a boxing fan right now.

Between Bradley vs Alexander, Pac-Floyd not fighting each other, and this sad excuse for a Heavyweight Title fight, this is why MMA and WWE are kicking Boxing's ass. Say what you will about either, but at least they make matches people want to see and have conclusive finishes. I'm finding it more and more difficult to get excited about boxing matches anymore. I used to watch as much as I could, but now there are only a few fighters I can get excited about watching anymore. Anyone else feel like this lately? Not really, and you do know that wwe is scripted? If you like mma better thats cool, I'll be watching boxing.

We have had great fights lately, I'm not complaining anymore. And some young prospects are starting to emerge. We still have the BS, but who cares.

You see if I was a fighter I wouldn't have any incentive to put on a good performance and I'll tell you why. It seems fighters only get attention for bad things nowadays, you're talking about the bad state that boxing is in, ignoring the relevant fights that took place that actually put on a good show. It is insulting. That being said, I don't think for a moment that you are a boxing fan.

Blame the promoters not the sport Yeah boxing is not at that same level that it was in the 70's 80's and parts of the 90's but don't blame the sport blame the promoters who dwell with their own interests. Either way though it's not like we have all been left in the dark, I for one refuse to be held hostage over the whole Pacquiao/Mayweather annoyance nor the promoters war because consider the following: 1.There are still many great fights that are still being made did you not see the Rios/Acosta, Foreman/Wolak, Lee/McEwan fights? and not to mention the many great fights that are to come later this year:boxing: heck even the Cotto/Mayorga fight was solid along with Sergio/Dzinziruk. 2.Gamboa,Lopez,Garcia,Bradley,Martinez,Marquez,Rios,Khan,Cloud,Vitali,Wladimir,etc these guys along with so many others are still keeping the sport alive and while the casual fans may not know most of these guys believe me in due time that will change. 3.WWE is not real 4.UFC: I do not like it and I never will but we are all entitled to our own opinions and if you like it more power to you. 5. not really. this fight had a freak injury in it. happens in all sports. i remember henin pulling out of grand slam tennis final infront of a packed crowd after 1 game not long ago, ronaldo had seizures before the world cup final and was like a zombie in the game, zidane was injured before the 2002 world cup as it's main attraction, we've had formula one races called off and decided behind safety cars like the farcical us grand prix a little while back... it's part of the spectacle, not knowing what to expect and what makes sport so appealing. why be miserable and dwell on the negatives when we have had some great fights recently? rio-acosta, maidana-khan, soto-antillon, marquez-katsidis all proved boxing is easily the greatest and most dramatic sport in the world. no 1st round stoppage due to an injury is going to change that. and wwe is not a sport by the way. you realise all wrestling bouts are fixed and all confrontations planned? might aswell compare the wwe with all the movies out at the box office instead of boxing. only dumbasses would consider the wwe a sport

Its frustrating definetly, the fighters are bigger drama queens then ever now,along with the promoters. Disgusting how the big fights either cant be made or take forever to get made. And when they do we have to be ready for the fight to end on some anti climactic moment. Recently I have been more focused on the amateur circuit in my area then the pros.Trying to also take my own amateur career to a higher level soon. I love the sport but that doesnt mean I have to idolize these pathetic millionaires only fighting twice a year.
