I read many tipping Solis to pull the upset here, or a very close fight. I see otherwise, Vitali will dominate, and knock Solis out in the latter half of the fight.
Vitali Klitschko is getting older, but he is still at the top of his game. He will show that tonight, by putting on a good display.
Vitali TKO/KO in the 10'th.
I wonder if I'm a Vitali doubter, because I give Solis a good shot at pulling off the upset? I believe that Solis would beat every Heavyweight, outside of Vitali and Wlad, without question. He has all the tools with his phenomenal boxing skills, fast handspeed, and good power. His amateur pedigree already puts him a level above many professional fighters to me. His weight leaves something to be desired, but it looks like he worked pretty hard for this one.
Vitali has been one of my 5 favorite fighters since he put it on Lennox Lewis back in 2003. I haven't dared pick against him since, and I still won't do so today. But I do think Solis poses the biggest threat to Vitali since Lennox. It should be a tough fight, and I don't rule out the upset at all.
It's definitely his toughest fight since the comeback, but I think he rises to the occasion and shows what a class champion he is. I'm going TKO11 for VK.
If boxing was based on a pure points system like basketball, no doubt he'd be a great fighter.
Unfortunately boxing is about WINNING fights, and winning fights against QUALITY opposition. I give Vitali credit for not letting scrubs have a chance against him. In that department he is better than Wlad and Lewis. But against top guys he has fallen short or pulled with injury(Rahman)
I think a win against Haye, Adamek, or Povetkin would put Vitali in that upper echelon of elite Heavyweights and make him a top 10 ATG. He's not proving anything by battering stationary fat guys.
So if he beats Solis then the fight with Adamek in Poland happens and he wins that will make his legacy skyrocket for you?

Solis might have a ton of skill, but I don't see the point if he isn't in good enough shape to capitalize on that skill level.
I found the weigh in results on another site, and apparently Solis was 246.9 which is pretty good for him.
as a fan it's just disturbing to see these fatty HW's. They do have ability, but they're not maximizing there talent by coming in fat and out of shape.
**It looks like Arreola has started to turn the corner in regards to coming in better shape. About time, he's 30 and the clock is starting to tick.
Im mostly just adding perspective.
Vitali is one of the most dominant Heavyweights of all time.
Joeyzagz is the most difficult poster to figure out on here. 1. He's a huge fan of calzaghe which instantly puts him in an elite class, but then he 2. makes posts hating on the Klitschko's and then he 3. makes posts like this. Some posts are troll bait, others are well thought out rational points. I really don't understand it.
he is going to make short work of a pig - at least he should. if you don't have enough sense to get into shape for your chance at a title i am happy to see you get embarrassed.
see: wlad klitschko v sanders. lol
:lol1: only people i see boosting solis is Klitschko fans
I have to agree with that.
Solis has had 17 fights but all people keep on saying is that he had a great amateur career. Vitali has said that. Some of his fans have said that on these threads .... but they don't mention that he is great at the pros ..... so that is why they need to bring up the amateurs. In the amateurs Solis would come in shape. Not in the pros, so far... In the amateurs he racked up his accomplishments. In the pros, he is still a question mark.
Solis needs to prove it in the pros. We will see what happens against Vitali.
Oh..so Solis is not as great as the aforementioned 3 you mentioned or is he the only one with the weight problem. Without looking at the weight most would rate him above those fighters on skills alone. Oh & nice try... trying to equate Vitali Klitschko as just another Wilt Chamberlain... but last I CHECKED Michael Jordan has the highest PER in Nba history.. just like Vitali has the highest PER in boxing history. Vitali takes care of everyone including the alltime greats. Rahman is lucky Vitali couldn't get to him....you haVE NO IDEA what he would've made of Hasim for calling him chicken because of injuries. incase you've forgotten took 4 years to heal... he'll just be content for having the lineage to fighters that have Ktfo Rahman.its too bad vitali was hurt because back then fights with rahman & maskaev would have really helped his legacy but unfortunately he was hurt.
Vitali will dominate easily, I find it hard to believe that some people are giving Solis a real chance of an upset. It won't happen, Vitali will win every round in a one-sided beatdown.........
As long as he's not better than Lennox....right?
Vitali is better than Lennox in some aspects. Stamina, Chin, Aggression, KO Ratio and domination of inferior opposition. But what will always hurt him in the end is:
The worst version of Lennox overcame the best version of Vitali.
That fact will haunt him to the grave.
So it Vitali wins a fight he's expected to win he will "silence his doubters"?
A minority of doubters yes. Sure Vitali is expected to win this fight, but I've noticed a few doubters popping up as of late.. Actually, it's unusual to see Vitali being questioned as to how much he has left by some. Solis will get punished like every other opponent, to think otherwise is wishful thinking.

You must be having a laugh. No one is giving Solis a chance, apart from Vitali injuring his leg during the ringwalk or something.
I've seen a few pulling for the upset tonight, not just on these forums. I read one guy has put on 250 euros for a Solis decision! Seriously, I've seen numerous guys saying Vitali time is up tonight (although a minority), it's unusual to hear this.
Vitali is being made out to be old and shot - he isn't. Vitali will dominate Solis, like he has since coming out of retirement. There are a few doubters to what Vitali has left in the tank, I still think he can compete at the top for anoter 2 years yet.
Dude..you're either pro Vitali or tearing him a new ahole when Lennox is involved..choose or just admit you're anal.... thanks 46-0 Joe Schmo. ;)
Im mostly just adding perspective.
Vitali is one of the most dominant Heavyweights of all time.
Last we saw of Vitali.... he was not too pleased with Briggs for lasting the distance. He was mocking Kevin Johnson in the last rd for fighting just to survive. Vitali has failed to KO 5 opponents including 2 of the last 3 fights. ALL 3 times his opponents went the distance he won all 36 rds as the scorecards read 120-108... 2 other times when he got injured & failed to complete the fights himself.. he won 12 of the 15 rds.
If boxing was based on a pure points system like basketball, no doubt he'd be a great fighter.

Vitali is old, it is about time he collects his pension as it is overdue. All them grey hairs on his head. Wait for Solis to win tonight and Haye to put that Wlad to sleep for the 4th time in July.
The Klitschkos are on the way out, the big bore is over.
