These guys are great... I like watching them... Skilled... Powerful... Knocking out motha****ers... Please don't tell me because there not from here... Why the hate?
I don't hate the Klitchko's myself. But I don't like them, I don't watch them, and I don't rate them highly on the ALL TIME list...
The reason; The Heavyweight division is utterly pathetic right now, and that's the division that they are dominating. Also, they are boring as hell to watch.
Let me emphasize that it's not so much "dislike" as it is simply NOT CARING FOR...
Wlad is very boring to watch, anybody who says otherwise is watching a different guy to me. Don't hate wlad just don't care all that much.
Vitali though is actually quite good to watch agressive throws a lot of punches - a real badass
reality is Klitschko fans enjoy a certain amount of Klitschko hate. it makes the brothers seem 'unappreciated' and downtrodden, I guess.
case and point: Early in this thread I expessed how I liked the brothers and that not all Americans dislike them, its just that we are misrepresented by a few of the loudmouth ones that do hate them.
completely ignored, and they fed on the negative Klitschko comments.
A lot of Klitschko fans have the mindframe of: "If the you dont consider the Klitschko brothers the best of all time, then youre a biased hateful American pig".
which is ridiculous.
I don't think I ignored it, in my post I said most americans, of course there are exceptions like you or Spray_resistant. So in that sense at least, I'm free of guilt :D
That's bunk. Even Larry Merchant doesn't believe that.
Larry Merchant is an old drunk that needs to be put out to pasture.
Kostya Tszyu was Russian born and Americans had no problem giving him his proper respect plus we looked forward to his fights. The Klits just aren't exciting to watch and the heavyweight division is horrible.

Take a good look people, this is how to be completely F*cking retarded. These people right here clearly have no clue about boxing. Apparently these guys(Klitschko's)should be letting everyone they fight tee off on them to their hearts content and take every bit of punishment their opponents can possibly deliver like idiots.
No idiot, if they both did that all the time they'd be flat on their a**es most of the time, and neither of them would be world champions. Also, if they fought like that, that would mean that neither of them have developed for sh*t. Meanwhile these two are good enough that they can go through fights taking minimal damage and beating the piss out of everyone they fight. It might not be like a f**king Rocky movie, but it's still a beautiful display of boxing technique and ability. Men their size aren't typically as good as they are because AT that size they start to get too clumsy and uncoordinated. These two however, Wlad moreso than Vitali, are very smooth on their feet, fluid with their hands, and show athleticism that is very rare of men their size. Wlad is also very quick for a heavyweight.
I can't believe this. You're trying to hold it against him that he's tall and thusly harder to hit? I guess he shouldn't have grown to be 6'6'' or 6'7'', how selfish of him to grow that tall. Here's the real deal, even against guys their height they manage to keep from getting hit, that is just another pointless waste of breath on your part.
Yeah, it's called footwork and defense stupid. I suppose that you, like the vegetable lasagna above, think they should just stand there and get their a**es beat? Ya see, when an opponent has you trapped in a corner, it's generally a good tactic to get the hell out of there unless your a masterful counter puncher or just like eating leather. So, in an effort to not give any opportunity to his opponent, he does a real novel thing, he moves out of range like a smart fighter. Sorry if that doesn't make sense to you, I can't imagine why either of them wouldn't want to sit there and let people pound on them like cavemen.
I've got to call you other f*ckers out too who are trying to say that "Americans don't like the Klitschko's because they aren't from America". I just think that's b.s. for starters because I am an American and I love these guys to death. They are my favorite heavyweights of my lifetime (1985-present) and that's saying a lot when you look at that list of people in there. A lot of Americans on that list too. The guy I'd put right behind them is Lennox Lewis, a Brit, so you can gladly take that Anti-American sh*t and shove it. I know that's the "IN" thing these days, to be anti-America but that sh*t is just stupid and I would hope you folks were better than that. I would also hope that my countrymen would be wiser than that if they do harbor anything against them for that reason.
So far though I haven't seen anyone make any mention of that but you people. Grasping at straws anyone? All my friends that are boxing fans also love the Klitschko's and that's because they get sh*t done. I personally like that they fight in that traditional stand up European styles as well. It's technical and smart. If you actually pay attention to the damage they do to their opponents it's depressing. You hope to God they've got good health insurance and a Roth IRA or something because by the end of the fight you figure they'll be walking on their heels for the rest of their lives.
Great post man, i concur on all your points!
99 posts and the only thing proven is that Klitschko threads bring the retards out of the woodwork :rolleyes9:
Poet
Indeed. You're living proof of that fact :booty:
Different division & like i said they're not from Russia & Euro type countries.....The lighter divisions have a different or slightly altered type of fanbase than the heavyweight division.
Either Americans have a bias towards foreign fighters or they don't. The fact that you are now trying to separate the lighter divisions from the heavweights to support your argument just shows me that you're reaching.
Being Russian or Euro has f*ck all to do with it. Kostya Tszyu was well respected by the American boxing fans wasn't he?
Just face it. If the Klits aren't popular in the US it's not because they're foreign. It's because they're boring and the guys they are fighting don't help either.
You're criticizing their TRUNKS?
Jesus H. Christ, I've heard it all now.
The next criticism will be "They make bad hot dogs".
Yeah, rapist Tyson yelling about fagg*t white boys whose asses he could eat (pretty gay remark, actually) and eating babies is real great stuff.
Tyson's "I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah!" (about Lennox Lewis who didn't have children) is of course gay as gay can be, too.
Yep. For every good fight of Clay's, he had a half dozen stinkers. And the guy clinched ALL THE TIME. Which is why I find complaints about Wlad's clinching ironic. It was good enough for the supposed 'Greatest,' but it's bad when Wlad does it.
Let me add that Wlad in his CLINCHIEST fight (vs Sam Peter I) clinched less than Lennox (vs Tyson) and HALF as much (20 seconds per round) as Ali (40 seconds per round) (vs Frazier).
Let me additionally add, that Wlad is CLINCHing (legal) while Ali is arm holding (illegal), neck grabbing (illegal) and head-down-pushing (illegal).
Moreover Wlad's clinches are swift and ending soon (2 seconds on average) while Ali holds and holds and holds.
I don't want to see 10,000 jabs in a heavyweight fight with just a few right hands.
Wlad's left is like other guys' right. Thus de facto you see hundreds of rights.
These guys are great... I like watching them... Skilled... Powerful... Knocking out motha****ers... Please don't tell me because there not from here... Why the hate?
it has NOTHING to do with their style...like MOST will say....thats just the cover-up...it's their passport....my countrymen hold the K2 bros passports against them....as for me, Wlad is my dude...Big Vit is cool as well but I want him to lose that title so Wlad can get it and OWN the division ALONE!!....with Big Vit outta the picture ppl will give the REAL champ the props he deserves....again, NOTHING against big bro but lil bro is my dude :boxing:
Why did people love tyson, holyfield, ali, joe frazier, george foreman etc???
BECAUSE THEY HAD PERSONALITIES....
In other words: Americans value boxers by their out-of-the ring behavior. Now I understand why you elected an actor as the POTUS.
I like watching Vitali, my only problem is Wlad doesn't drop the hammer on guys as often as i'd like. Come on, I don't want to see 10,000 jabs in a heavyweight fight with just a few right hands.
I feel like Wlad doesn't like to let go of the right hand until he knows he opponent has very little left.
Besides that i give both fighters respect.
Look how much US boxing fans love BHop and he's one of the most boring there is.
News to me....if that was the case...there would have been no reason for BHOP to fight Pascal in Canada...truth is ...BHop doesnt reaaly have much fans anyway.......there was a reason why no network wanted to buy Roy Jones vs BHop 2 last April.....
Wladimir can be hard to watch at times. I watched his fight vs Calvin Brock the other night, and well, Wlad didn't throw a right for about 3 rounds.
Oh, give me a break. Against Calvin Brock he threw the right too late, against Tony Thompson he threw the right too early. Wladimir DOMINATES his opponents and yet somehow magically he's doing things wrong.
I rather have a root canal than sit through Wlad-Ibragimov again, probably the most pathetic and boring fight I have ever witnessed.
Then you have obviously not watched many fights.
For a starter watch Chris Byrd vs DaVarryl Williamson: An all-American fight. And then come back and watch Klitschko-Ibragimov again.
Half of Clay's fights are worse than anything Klitschko ever delivered.
