I did not include Pacquiao/Mayweather as it would be a waste of poll votes and will definitely not happen in 2011. I also did not include Cotto because there's no way Bob Arum will let that happen. Lets be realistic about Sexy Sergio's prospects. So, of his remaining potential opponents who do you think he should fight next.
Keep in mind it would be ideal for him to attempt maintaining his strong momentum, quality of opposition, and continue pushing him closer to super stardom. Poll to follow, please discuss! :trink26::boxing:
I really wanna see Martinez-Margarito in November if Margo gets by Cotto again. If not, then Sturm. It makes since. Both are good boxers and title holders at 160.
I need to see more from Pirog. He should have chosen to fight Ishe Smith. Why the hell didn't that fight happen? Smith called him out and Pirog's team said it was a possibility.
Same goes for Kirkland. He needs to do something impressive after that long layoff.
u mean like dzinziruk didn't deserve the fight and made no sense for the public?
Dzinziruk was forced on Martinez by HBO do to a deal made with Gary Shaw in the Bradley/Alexander negotiations. Dzinziruk fighting Martinez made no sense for the public, but Martinez probably accepted it anyway because it at least made sense to help his resume. Dzinziruk is actually a legit undefeated 154 champion that everyone thought would be hard to crack even for Martinez. Pirog on the other hand is only a paper champ prospect and hasn't proven himself like Dzinziruk. Martinez would get no credit for Pirog while he obviously got a ton of credit for Dzinziruk as you can see from the press.

Martinez completely outclassed him. you know what I mean
my point is that Martinez' promotor wont make that fight happen.
I would like to see it too you mofo, but saying Martinez is ducking him is :lame:
Martinez and duckin?:cool3:
Pirog has got Maritnez WBO belt. Martinez beat Pavlik for it.
Pirog won a vacant belt by beatin a green up and coming youngster, which is his best win.
Pirog doesnt produce any money.
I also would like too see Martinez-Pirog to shut up the critics, but Pirog doesnt deserve that fight and it make no sense for the public.

stop ducking pirog

I wouldn't mind this at all. Should be a good fight, but I'll take Sergio by late stoppage.
Kirkland or Angulo as well would be fun and I don't mind him defending his MW belt (belts?), but for a real challenge I think he needs to go up a weight class.
Yeah, I think if I had to choose there would be slightly more intrigue with an Angulo fight? He at least brings a sort of quiet charisma and some character/fireworks to the ring. Although Pirog would also be okay.. If you heard the clip "F*ck Pirog.." then you know Dibella may not be too excited about it though. But if no one surfaces as a legitimate challenge in his next one to two fights.. There's no where to go but up.
I think Pirog is the best fight to make. He's in the same weight class, he had a great coming out party against Daniel Jacobs and has plenty of momentum going for him.

I voted for angulo because I want to see martinez put on a clinic and then knock him out. We all know Perro cant box and is slow so it would be a mismatch
then again i would like to see a pirog fight who is another belt holder at 160
