You're pretty f*cking wrong.
Clottey never shows up to a big fight. But you're right he wasn't bad. In fact, forget that Manny could've fought Floyd instead. Given the Cotto bout, Manny had every right to a tune-up. Except...he's now taking his third mediocre fight in a row, and got the fourth lined up (Cotto-Margarito winner).
see, i didn't lie
Diaz, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey all acknowledge they lost to the worlds best fighter. When Sergio gets that acclaim from his opponents, rather than Sergios fans, then we will know Sergio has arrived. And no Pavlik, PW and Co dont think Sergio is THE best boxer in the world. Pavlik thinks BH beat him better, and PW thinks he would beat Sergio if they ever fought, plus they think Pac is the best.
But until then, being p4p no3 isnt too bad an achievement.
I think larry has a point, Manny been cherry picking, and Martinez been fighting fights in which people think he had a danger of losing. Martinez # 1 p4P.
Anyone who fought Hatton, Cotto, and margarito in quick succesion would perhaps be expected to lose but not Pac it seems. Pac cant help that he is fave to beat everyone. And we cant help that people dont rate Sergio so highly as to automatically put him favourite against who he fights like against Pavlik and PW.
Maybe if Sergio continues to dominate opponents for the next few years or so he will enjoy the luxury that manny enjoys now. Pac used to be expected to lose to the DLHs of this world. But that was many moons ago now.
When Pac was beating highly rated fighters like Barrera and Co the ratings still had Floyd above Pac even though some may have believed Pac deserved the spot. It took pac many great performances to enjoy the position he is in now.
Sergio is doing his apprenticeship. There is no shortcut and cheerleading him wont fool anyone.
Cotto is the best active fighter right now. Didnt people see his performance against Mayorga??? He looked so much improved with Steward in his corner, He beat Mayorga bad and received no punishment!! Cotto is in his prime right now!! Its time for Martinez to step up and fight Cotto!!!
No, pulling out isn't defined by madsweeney. They were knee deep into negotiations for a fight everyone wanted. He walked away (with a mediator at the table!) and made a fight no one asked for. Keep justifying it, you disgusting ass d*ckrider. At least the smart Pac fans stay away from that topic.
You say pulling out of a fight, what does that mean to most people, it means pulling out of a signed fight for whatever reason.
Like you said, he walked away from negotiation because THERE WAS NO LONGER ENOUGH TIME TO PROMOTE/TRAIN since the fight wasn't signed due to OST.
I'm a d*ckrider?!? You've been a hater for YEARS, GTFOH!
I'd still rate Pacquiao above Martinez. Although Pac's opponents may have not been prime, it's not like they were years past their best (except DLH). Pacquiao has had absolutely no trouble dismantling DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito. He wiped them clean, and these were all belt-holders within the past couple years, no more, but less. Martinez had shades of trouble against Cintron (although the victor was clear), lost to Williams, was getting tattooed while landing his own in the rematch, was behind on the majority of scorecards against Pavlik until the cut. He's not untouchable, let alone invincible. Did anyone really think Sergei had a chance? I mean the guy is a sitting duck for Christ sake. I think the question before the fight wasn't if Sergei could win, it was if he could make it out with a decision loss over a KO loss. Sure, I was impressed on how he took him out, but Sergei's best win was over a past-prime Daniel Santos... I think if Sergio fights a solid, skillful puncher, he can lose. Unfortunately, they are scarce in the middleweight division now that Abraham has moved up.
When was that? He was never behind against Pavlik, not even close.
pulling out of a fight is having a fight signed, ready to go then pulling out (i.e. Berto vs Mosley)
Moving on after failed negotiations is not pulling out of a fight.

Perhaps because Arum had a date set with HBO for a fight and after 2 months of negotiating, nothing was happening with Mayweather. They dropped negotiations and almost instantly had Clottey fight and they barely had enough time for a short promo tour and 8 week training camp. There's no way Roach/Pac would do less than an 8 week camp going up against Mayweather.
I think they all figured they'd get the fight signed after the fight (notice how they agreed to May's 14 day proposal right after the Clottey fight?)
So in other words, they pulled out.
No, he pulled out. Weren't they negotiating? Why did he all of a sudden fight Clottey?

That's just like, your opinion...man. You say he pulled out of the fight (implicating a duck) most people see it as him staying busy. Then again, you've proven your dislike for Manny for years, no wonder you look at things in the most negative way possible.

Regardless of your bullsh*t you made up about me? Well, the problem is that he pulled out a fight with Floyd to fight Clottey who earned a shot at the world's best by...?

Can't agree with you Larry. Yes Martinez's competition has been a bit better over the last 3 fights but remember, he just lost fairly recently and would you honestly say that p4p he'd beat Martinez.
Manny has had sub par (only for him or Floyd that is) fights and he did exactly what he should have, blown them out of the water. Then again, even Berto or Bradley would be considered sub-par at this point. Better than Mosley for sure, but still these guys just aren't on Pac/May's level.
i didn't make up nada, i just would'nt dare attempt going through 22k posts to find it
he got it by being the next best thing, by arguably beating cotto? you forget?
how many people would say pacquiao is duckinmg clottey if he hadn't already fought him? who now at welterweight would've beat clottey
and pulled out? dont remember no such thing, dont start reaching
Where has this myth come from?

There's my predictions. You're welcome.
No one would say Pacquiao was ducking Clottey because no one gives a sh*t about him. Have you ever heard people say Floyd was ducking Clottey? Exactly. Please stop it.
