i think it was the same thread starter who posted Canello had around 20M viewers in Mexcio...if thats true, then he must be right up there after Pac and Floyd. I remember Khan was doing around 4M views on UK TV when Frank Warren had him on ITV and not PPV, but 4M vs 20M isnt even remotely close if those numbers he quoted are right. i like canelo, i dont get all the hate for him. i admit he made the Hatton fight look much harder work then i thought he would, but credit to Hatton too...but i think that kid has a really bright future even if he does get knocked out. The hardcore fans might not like him, but you guys are in the massive minority compared to the other 20M + mexicans!!! LOL

If he's not #3, he's certainly up there. He's been marketed right yes, but he also has a very unique look/style, which helps him. I just hope he doesn't get torched out! That being said, I don't think it will happen. It will be selective matchmaking at it's finest, just like what's going on with Manny Pacquiao right now. They don't want to kill the cash cow. Its nothing like Pacquiao, Mexicans are knowledgeable about the sport they don't jump ship after a loss.

Did you just reference a BaD rating which is always garbage anyway, as well as what was the ratings difference from the average rate anyway was it lower by .01 or 2 or 3 points? Secondly, of course Cotto isn't going to be a draw in Vegas its about... 48 hours away from New York by car and only 4 hours from Los Angeles of course more Mexicans are going to show up thats simply how PROMOTING works. If you wonder why Manny is a draw in Vegas (I live here btw) is because Vegas has a huge percentage of filipinos who mainly move from Hawaii. I think Cotto might be the better fight. But, as a draw -and I'm assuming we just talking about in the U.S not all of boxing- I think Canelo is the bigger draw. I would lean towards Alvarez right now. I think the PPV in June 18 will tell more about his drawing power.

I don't think so. Even Abraham and Sturm have up 5 million views during their fights. David Haye sells 800k PPVs in UK. Canelo has more viewers in mexico with abraham and sturm combined. And i doubt sturm and abraham can bring 11,000 fans in the u.sAnd bring big ratings in hbo.
