That fight was exactly the same, to a tee, great fight. I said during the fight Acosta was holding to much, Cortez said stop , surprisingly he did, I think the 8th round, and got grinded out. Same as Chico vs freitas, good stuff.
Rios reminds me more of chico's style than tapia's, whoever said that. Future looks bright for rios!
I see where you are coming from but the fact that Corrales was so long makes it a hard comparison. I think he is a lot like Tapia.QUOTE]
dude, it's not the height or anything like that, it's the style, the stalking style, being right there mixing it up, making the fight, taking two shots to get one........
i wasn't saying how he throws punches, or looks, but what he brings........
all i know, is that boxing needs another chico corrales and rios is someone who is the closest to that call. i don't remember ever seeing chico in a dull fight, and as to date, i can say the same for rios......
acosta deserves his credit, if he was more economical with his punches, i think he could've done better, but then again, rios was bringing the heat, even when he was starting slow.
can't compare them cause acosta never quit
c'mon, it's the same fight, you're just overstating the obvious, yeah freitas quit, but the fight unfolded the exact same.........
I think it resemble more of a margarito vs cotto...
it was a great fight!
yes, another fight that it is akin too!
great comparison............................freitas quit though...........acosta did not
again, don't look at the obvious, the fight went the exact same way, much props to acosta, dude is a stud....

Frietas had more power.
So did Corrales.
Similar fight but Corrales-Frietas was on a higher level.
I wouldn't be so sure. Frietas I think was a bit overrated and Acosta has been highly underrated IMO. Rios can be really damn good if he works on his boxing more, the kid is 24 yrs old.
Totally, but it played out the exact same, Acosta beating rios to the punch, moving, and getting stAlked the whole time, til the breaking point, awesome.
