He says he cant see how someone who only throws 500 punches beats someone who throws 1000 punches (and who is also one of the most accurate punchers in the sport) so unless Floyd severely hurts Pac, he has no chance in hell to win a decision, Floyd needs a KO to win.
Thats because you're missing the sarcasm. Hes a huge Floyd stan and is putting on this "I'm a Manny fan" bit.
Everyone familiar with him knows its hurting him deep inside to have to write these things. Why he tortures himself, we'll never know.
It seems I did miss the sarcasm. Thanks for clearing that up for me Johnny.
I respect someone picking Pacquiao to win but this reasoning is dumb for a boxing analyst like Bernstein to say...
Pavlik throws a lotta punches...what happened against Bernard Hopkins?
Nothing a little lateral movement can't solve...

And who has Floyd fought recently or ever, that fights like Manny?
And how does Manny fight when he aint punching a slow as fuk bag , your that short sited you think Floyd will be hit like the hand picked easy beats they putting Manny in front of , fuk me your in for a shock sonny Floyd will have Mannys work cut to fuk inside 3 rounds .
I think fights we think will be competitive can end up being the easiest fight of a boxer's career, I dont see Manny's offense being superior to Floyds defense. Fighting Floyd is nothing like beating Manny's recent list of "slow with no defense" opponents.
You're under-estimating Pacquiao so badly that it's not even worth bothering to discuss it with you, other than to say that lots of ATGs with great defences have struggled against great offensive fighters. The greatest defensive boxer of all time, Willie Pep, lost three times to Sandy Saddler. Ali lost the first time against Frazier and went life and death in their third fight. Benitez lost to Hearns. Leonard lost his first fight against Duran. Mayweather has never fought any offensive fighter with footwork, handspeed, workrate, stamina, accuracy, and the ability to punch hard and accurately from unexpected angles that even compares with Pac. Pac's movement is comparable with Floyd's and he is the only living boxer that you can say that about. Pac has never fought anyone with anything like Mayweather's skills either, but to pretend that either of them would find it an easy fight is just stupid. And Pac's list of opponents in the last year are collectively better than Floyd's opponents in the same period.

I've seen some rather inaccurate posts on this forum but this one seriously takes the biscuit.
I'm surprised I'm the only one that never missed it.

If you think either fighter will be in their comfort zone against easily the best opponent of their career, you know nothing about boxing.

Pac wont hit Floyd cleanly, not consistently, he couldnt hit Marquez consistently. Floyd is a defensive specialist, he will be in his comfort zone against an all offensive fighter, Manny being a southpaw doesnt matter, Floyd beats every southpaw just as easy as righties, he actually hurts them more.

Anyone who is still trying to convince himself that Pac won't be able to hit Floyd cleanly is in denial. I've watched certain parts of Pacquiao fights in slow motion and his movement and punch placement is the best I have ever seen (i.e., when he is kind of jumping to the side and punching at the same time while slipping a punch being thrown at him).
Mayweather is not in the mood for gritty wars where the other guy is going to press him al night anymore and he hasn't been for some time now. Mayweather can't counter every punch in a 7 punch combination and he can't block everything.

No, he won't. Manny is far more accurate than Floyd, he'll outland and outwork him easily. :bottle:

Actually you can , and it's exactly what MP should try to do if they fight. Volume is prob the best way to beat a counter puncher. Couple in Manny's speed and power and it's a good strategy.
Yep. You can't box with a great boxer like floyd.
Didn't expect this thread to have this much views. I guess Bernstein's opinion really matters. This is a guy who said Andre Ward's fighting style reminds him of Sugar Ray Leonard.

Fights are won first by going up in the ring and landing punches...al b might be counting on pbf running most of the time than engaging pac on a toe to toe...if pbf ever had the guts to be with pac in d ring...
that's how pwill beat winky.
It's also how Jirov was destroyed by Toney. It's also how Pascal lost to Hopkins on most people's cards. It's also how Calzaghe was losing to Hopkins until the old man tired.
And it wasn't the punches PWill threw that won him that fight, it was the punches he landed cleanly. And landing punches cleanly on an old Winky is far easier than landing cleanly on Floyd, especially as Winky didn't manage to land any counter-punches to speak of, whereas Floyd is the best counter-puncher in the business.
