Sergio Martinez getting disrespected in the P4P ranks

Martinez should fight and beat guys like Ward and Bute to get my respect. He has been the pecfect match for the guys he has beaten recently.

As he always has been. If you dont have a major country backing you, you dont get hyped, go places as fast/easy as others do. In 2010 Martinez who is 7 years older than Donaire beat an elite boxer with 12 pounds and 4 inches on him then knocked out a widely regarded P4P#3 elite boxer with 5 inches on him, thats like if Donaire had knocked out a P4P#3 elite boxer who was 5'11....oh god I dont even want to think about it hed probably be proclaimed an instant ATG. Not to mention Martinez won fighter of the year/knock out of the year, robbed twice in one fight, on the short end of the Williams fight because he was the lesser name, stripped of his hard earned titles to make a mexican fraud a champ, dudes just getting disrespected all around. Nonito should be in the P4P list and Im a big fan but Nonito stops Montiel and now some people want to bump Martinez down? I seen Montiel get beat by fucking Z Gorres. HBO listed Rafael Concepcion as a notable win for fucks sake!!! the equivalent of Alex Bunema!! Give credit where its due foos..... Such is life. Donaire outranked Martinez before both fought Montiel and WIlliams respectively. But because of how he defeated Williams and the status of Williams as a fighter, Sergio moved up ahead to #3. But now Donaire has done the same to an equally caliber opponent,so he deserved to jump ahead of Martinez in the rankings. It's back and forth between the two at this point. And it will depend on Martinez next fight, and Donaire's next opponent to solidify their rankings. At this point, is still shaky in regards to #3 and #4.

Outside of fighting Williams 2x (losing one, winning one), beating Pavlik and getting f****d with no vaseline by Margarito, he really doesnt have a stellar resume. I dont think that Donaire knocking out Montiel should have skyrocketed him up the p4p, but I feel the same way about Martinez; he ko'd Williams and he shot alllllllllll the way up the list. That was a bunch of bull**** to me too.. If anything, you can make a case for other fighters getting disrespected by Martinez getting thrown up in the rankings, just like youre making a case for Martinez getting disrespected by Donaire's ranking being increased..

Martinez just happens to be stuck in a crap weight divison. There are good boxers in middleweight but outside of fans, nobody can even name five of them. If he wants to be marketable, he should move up to SMW and try his luck there. There is no money or popularity to be won where he's at now.

Martinez has been gettin' disrespected by everyone. HBO screwed him over by not letting him fight Zbik, but theyre still his one ally. The WBC doesnt want him holding their straps, and every promoter is afraid to let him near their money makers. It sucks.

2 fights that Martinez didnt even win add to his stock and puts his resume infront of Donaires! LMAO at Montiel being better than Williams. Pavlik and Darchinyan are the same to me except that Pavlik had 4 inches and 12lbs on Martinez. Like I said the 1-1 still adds to his stock. Martinez fought 4 tough fights against top boxers and never looked bad doing it. That "draw" with Cintron shouldn't have been a draw. The ref incorrectly called a KD by Martinez a headbutt. That one point swing is why the draw happened. No matter what anyone's opinion is, Martinez should've gotten a 10-8 round and won that Cintron fight, if it wasn't for the incompetent ref. He was robbed in that fight. And Martinez only loss was avenged with a 2nd round KO less than a year later. Donaire doesn't deserve to be #2 P4P, IMO. People already forget that before Sergio KO'd Williams he was on most people's top 5 P4P list. Sergio KO's him and now people try to act like he's some sort of bum. :nonono:

I beg to disagree my buddy. It's about the resume and accomplishments. There's a reason why it took a while for Pacquiao and and all of the other fighters to reach the top ten. They needed to beat top guys and other P4P guys to be included in the list. Calderon is skilled, long before losing to Segura he was not in the Top 10 P4P. But given the condition of having the same size as Hopkins, Floyd, JMM, Pacquiao (who were in the top 10 at that time) Ivan would beat them all. Sergio Martinez is the most disrespected fighter right now. He gets fcked by the judges, gets fcked by the sanctioning bodies, they take away his belts, and now by the libra por libra rankings. Martinez probably doesn't give a $hit anymore.
