give your real opinion on alvarez wbc title shot

Wilfredo Benitez was a Champion at 17 years old and I never heard:"he's only 17" Canelo needs to step it up and so does JCC jr! I am getting tired of these two already! How do you get a title shot like that? Also, why against M. Hatton?:dunno::thinking::bsflag: you do realise that is extremely rare, dont you? only Cuevas and Benitez in the 100+ years of boxing became champs before 20, as far as I know.

I'm not really critical with him or JCC jr. So I don't car if they step it up or not. Because, they're not title holders. Never won a title. I don't consider them true contenders either. So whether they step it up or not. Doesn't bother me. However, once Alvarez wins a title. Then is when I will be critical. Then I will say you need to step it up. For example I will give you Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. All I hear is that he started boxing late, he doesn't have an amateur background, and blah blah blah. Because, he's a title holder and needs to step the fuck up. Fighting the likes of Hernandez and Arce is BS TBH. He needs to step it up because, he's a title holder. And, ever since winning that title he has fought very soft comp. Now that deserves criticism. Canelo and JCC Jr winning a title then they will be held to the same standards of the likes of WV2, Berto, and Haye, etc etc...Once you win a title you need to step up and face real comp.

If that ginger is too young, or if you guys think he is too green, then he shouldn't be fighting for the belt then.

IMO he won't be able to fight the Carlos Baldomir or Matthew Hatton's anymore. He would have to step up the level of competition and fight true contenders or other title holders. Worse things have happened. The winner is a paper champ, but so was the previous holder. Martinez is the real champ. Real champ as a MW or real WBC champ? Because, if it is the former. No he's not the real MW champ. He's a paper champ just like Cotto, K9, and Dzinziruk. If it's the latter fine OK whatever. But, he hasn't campaigned in that weight-class for over a year now. And, it's about to fight for the 4th time in a row at MW. I don't understand how he can still be considered a champ if he doesn't fight at that weight-class but whatever.

BS match up... How about subbing Hatton with Vanes "Nightmare" Martirosyan. If the idea is Canelo ain't ready for that, he shouldn't be fighting for the belt... I dunno how the WBC could be so blatently full of it. It's crazy:thinking:

my real opinion is: i could care less.

My take is they dont deserve it, but every one is acting surprised like the sanctioning organizations have not been screwed up. So fuck it. Pacquiao just fought for the same title at a catchweight against Margarito, 2 fighters that had never done any thing at 154.

it is not a legitimate title. neither was Pac-Marg Alvarez was scheduled to fight Hatton before the WBC decided to start giving away free belts. its not his fault.

the diffrence is that pac fought margo who has fought at 154 already( both have beaten cotto who is a 154 champion right now)...canelo hasnt beaten any quality oppositon at any weighclass ever ...and canelo is fighting a ww at jmw for a title....

ralph it's like this,there are some posters,a lot actually that do indeed give Pacman credit for the Margarito fight,true story.But vacant title fights have always happened in the sport,but if there is gonna be a vacant title at stake in a fight,the least they can do is have the fight at full weight,not a catchweight.I think that if Canelo wanted a belt,k-9 has 1 hostage,he should have taken his.

As a Canelo fan I think it's a fuken joke that he is getting a title shot. Unlike other fans I wont count this bull**** title in a certain weight class. I have respect for the sport, unlike them dick sucking u know who fans

Anything that makes the WBC more irrelevent makes me happy so I'm all for it.

Really don't care, I stopped caring about belts a while back. As long as he defends it against a top quality opponent then I'm happy.
