Sergio Martinez...

There's no use talking about Pac-Martinez. Pac's walking around weight is around 145, and Sergio's is 180.. there was even drama about him making 160, what more 150? It's not gonna happen and if it does, it's gonna be a mismatch. Either Sergio's gonna be drained or sergio fights a lightweight. Both Pac and sergio are in a lose-lose situation if they fight each other, even at 150. For pac, he has a big chance of losing and even if he wins, as you mentioned, people would say he won against a weight-drained opponent. For sergio, if he loses, people will say he won over a midget and won't get full credit. Just imagine what would happen to his career if he loses!

Well for starters I know he isn't gonna ever get to face Floyd or Pacman & believe me it isn't because he isn't good enough. He is that good & he doesn't need to fight Pac or Floyd to prove it.Time did tell,ask the former middleweight champion & the Punisher how good he is. His big fight will most likely be against Cotto. Floyd and Manny will never happen. In boxing today, the "big" fight a fighter looks for is the money event, or the one that finally gets them on a PPV. That will most likely be cotto as i don't think he'll even fight floyd or manny.

I should fight 3 times for the next 2-3 years and then retire, because I guess by that time he will be defeated. There are guys out there who can help to his legacy, like Hopkins, Sturm, Angulo. :wtf1:......................Hopkins is at 175 and how old? not happening. How the hell would angulo or sturm help sergio's legacy? He is kind of screwed. For a big money fight he needs to pray for a manny loss to mosley. Better chance of getting a smaller but still lucrative fight in that scenario than a fight with manny or floyd. Cotto if he beats mayorga and margarito may be an option but doubt it. That's an ambitious schedule for cotto. Looks like his best bet is a fight with the super six winner or bute. Only that would take almost 2 years to come off.

like this guy said^^^ he has to keep his momentum. i thikn what he should aim for is best fights that make him dough no one (floyd/pac) is gonna give him a fight due to the risk/reward. cotto won't be around long enough I don't think so sergio has to make this happen. and cotto's not built for 160. 1) force a fight with sturm and ko him spectacularily, he can make dough in europe just like he can here. 2) try and set up a fight with lemieux, would be big biz in montreal. gun for bute. 3) kirkland and angulo- either one can increase his popularity 4) hope pirog gets off his ass, that can be a superfight if pirog stops celebrating for 8 months after big victories.... 5) margarito rematch if he beats cotto/mayorga

the important thing for him is to maintain his momentum and keep busy. if somehow this sudden popularity gets into his head and he starts getting picky with whom he fights, he might end up becoming a one hit wonder. i think his best option is to go up in weight. both pac and floyd became huge AFTER they went up in weight and i'm sure the same would hold true to Martinez. If he's truly a great fighter, he should have no problems whatsoever going up. in weight and becoming a champion.
