These guys are both in the top-5 heavyweights right now, and more importantly this is an even matchup that will surely have some fireworks. Haye-Harrisson, Wlad-Peter, and Wlad-Povetkin all had foregone conclusions, but this one will be a serious test of Haye and Povetkin.
Since Arreola's back on ESPN, the only heavyweight HBO has any stock in is Tomasz Adamek. I really think they should buy this broadcast and dip their toes in the water so-to-speak on checking out the heavyweight landscape for 2011.
The winner of this fight will probably go on to face Klitschko, and if HBO is planning on doing Klitschko-Haye (whenever that is), they should give some face time to Haye and get the information about the fight out there for the American viewers.
I don't know why everyone is so excited for this fight. Povetkin is a boring fighter and Haye hasn't been exciting in quite some time(Harrison, Valuev, and Ruiz weren't great fights). HBO has nothing invested in either fighter, the casual US boxing fan has no idea who either of these guys are. I'd rather HBO pass this fight by and invest in some young Americans or push a bigger fight. You aren't gaining anything regardless who wins. Neither wants to fight the best.
I wouldn't call Povetkin boring, but I agree he has become more so since being trained by Atlas. Gone is the guy who throws a thousand punches a night, he now seems gunshy as hell.

Bradley-Alexander was a colossal failure.
HBO's been completely ignoring the heavyweight landscape outside of Arreola and Adamek the past few years, this will be an action fight the American audience will enjoy if they tune in.
they should, but haye choosing to fight in the UK could make things less enticing for them.
supose they could do an late tape delay,if no ones seen it,its almost as good as live. and it will be on just before bhop v pascal right?.
or if they, hbo, pass on it,im sure froch and haye can double on for ppvs on both sides of the pond.
showtime could show haye v povetkin first, then show froch v johnson live,or the other way round, which ever one draws more fans than bhop v pascal does i guess will go on at the later time pascal v bhop is on hbo.
This fight sounds too good to be true.
If this fight happens, :omfg:.
I'm getting anxious.
Chagaev couldn't get licensed in the UK before and his condition is worse, if anything. Booth's meeting with Mormek obviously didn't turn into anything (thank god), so in reality Haye is pretty much out of options. He knows after the backlash from the Audley fight that he can't get away with that **** again.
Just like HBO putting the lean on Mayweather to fight Mosley, let's hope the pressure on Haye forces him to do the right thing and fight the best heavyweight that's available: Povetkin :boxing:
