If that happened, I don't think it would be as much about Floyd as it would be about Mosley shocking us. If he came back and lost to Pacquiao, I would expect it. If he came back and fought someone good but not great like Berto or Bradley or someone like that, it would be huge. I'd still look at it as Mayweather playing with fire with all these layoffs and finally getting burned.
lmaooooooooooooooooooooo if pac loses to shane his legacy will get hurt.....if floyd losses that doesnt affect him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 what an flomo dumb logic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's why they're called "flomo" :lol1:

I don't see a loss affecting his legacy much at this point of his career. He's already retired once and he's just hanging out now. Even if he gets floored by a haymaker in the first few seconds of a fight, he could just hang it up and call it a career. Floyd's been in the ring against some excellent fighters and he's outboxed them masterfully. I believe if he gets a draw or if he thought he was robbed by the judges, he'll stick around and continue fighting.
1) ssm ain't gonna beat pac
2) ssm can't beat wifebeater in a rematch
3) if wifebeater loses, he loses he can no longer be in the running for GOAT. the only reason why he's in the running is cause he is undefeated.
2 men enter the ring anything can happen
he would officially become the most overrated boxer in history. If he never fights again (which is very likely cuz he will do time for his crimes) his legacy is on par with Joe Calzage.
Good lord, I hope not. The first Mosley fight was bad enough (save maybe the 2nd round.) But anyway, even losing to a 40 yo Mosley won't hurt Floyd's legacy that much, especially with all this time he's taking off.
Depends on how he gets KO'd. If he fights valiantly for a good amount of rounds, but can't beat the ref's count, he gets a pass.
If he gets Sergio'd to the canvas, then it'll hurt him some.
He could end up much like Roy is today if he continues fighting.
Depends how and who he loses to. If it's say Pacquiao and it's by split decision, then it doesn't hurt his legacy in the least... if anything, it bolsters it if it ends up being a classic fight. Losing isn't the end of the world and many fighters became legends from fights they lost.
If he comes back and gets KO'ed early against some average-good tuneup, then obviously it hurts his legacy.
simple question...............lets say shane beats manny..then rematches floyd and knocks him out

I always felt that if he had at least 1 loss earlier in his career, that it would've been better for him personally and us fans.
He wouldn't have the burden of trying to stay perfect.
And us fans would've seen him fight more.
But a loss now doesn't really matter. Perfect records are overrated.
It's how you get up after a loss.
Stop hating dude
I think that a loss in Floyd' record would actually benefit us boxing fans, a hungry Floyd was a great, exciting fighter. Maybe after a loss he will take boxing more serious and give us some good fights before he is shot to shit, Floyd is already past his prime and that inactivity will mess him up, if it already hasn't.
I agree. I think after he loses, his following fights we will see the real Floyd and he wont have a zero to defend anymore. He will just fight the best that there is, be it Pac, Sergio, Khan etc etc. And he will go hell for leather in the fights, throwing bombs one after the other and trading to try make up for that loss.
See something of floyd weve yet seen.
wont do anything, he's already considered an hof and all time great. he can lose his next 3 it wouldnt matter...rjj is still an all time great despite him fighting on...once legacies r set they r in stone
A loss means sh¡t.....only in this forum a loss means that he really wasnt all that good, loses make you improve like anything in life, a loss especially if is a great fighter/fight it help you in your career and in the eyes of the fans...............
It would add a 1 to his loss record... hoping for his demise so reverently and ignorantly assuming his FIRST loss will remove him from top p4p classification and ruin his career is very Pactardish thinking.....
EVEN if he were to lose to a bum..... he would still be 41-1-0... last I checked, that's an outstanding professional record, he can add a few more losses to that and still be considered the best in the world. Get off his nuts, and Pacs too. If his popularity really does fall it just exposes all the Pactards and causal boxing fans there are nowadays, sure he will be flamed on this site, it seems like all people do on this site is troll around posting negative things about boxers they don't like or don't think they deserve credit for this and that. Who cares what he fights for or how he does it, hes doing what he loves and I love watching him work, he inspires me, if you don't like him don't watch him, but respect the athlete.
Not much cause real boxing fans know that since Mayweather moved up in wieght he only fought smaller and and old age fighterswith decling skills with a name to fool the fans who have low boxing IQ's. Floyds win over Mosley was similar to Larry Holmes beating Muhamad Ali. Floyds win over Marquez is similar to Joe Fraizer knocking out Bob Foster
