As much as I like Tim I'm not sure that he can handle AK length and skill. Yes, Khan defense isn't very good and he's a terrible inside fighter but his jab is dynamite. If Khan works his jab effectively he can keep Bradley at bay. Khan jabbed Malginaggi to death. I thought Bradley looked terrible against Alexander, to me he won the fight based on pure aggression. I saw Bradley land about two impactful right hands the entire fight, while Alexander landed 0 punches of consequence. Amir is head and shoulders above the JWW division talent wise. Amir also probably possess the best hand speed of all the JWW.
However, Khan does have his weaknesses, if he's to beat Bradley he better be in better condition than he was in against Maidana. While Khan's chin is suspect, he did stand up to some vicious shots from the hard hitting Maidana. Tim will be relentless and continue to attack AK no matter what. I think the fight boils down to Tim's determination vs. Khan's ability. Time will tell, I can't wait for the fight.
:boxing:
I don't share most people's opinion here. I like Bradley, he's tough and persistant. But he doesn't have the best of chins (sounds ironic yes), Khan is a lot bigger than him, has more reach and is a lot faster.
The combo's will be hitting Bradley so fast he's gonna be in trouble. Getting on the inside is not easy for Bradley, Khan's jab ain't no joke.
I can see Bradley getting stopped round 8. Khan has his number.
Khan will need to be aggressive and set a precedent early. If he begins moving backwards to avoid Tim's approach, then he is effectively robbing himself of all his best assets.
Difficult dilemma for Khan.
He can either play it safe and keep out of range, but this kills his best assets (speed and straight combinations)
OR
He can utilise his advantages and pop off on Tim, but this exposes him to Tim's best shots also.
Which is why he is such an exciting fighter.
BTW, does anyone think that he moves around TOO much in the opening rounds? I've seem him bounce around the ring whilst the opponent sits in the middle catching his breath. Just seems like his tension and excessive movement around the ring robs him of crucial oxygen and energy.
I think he could but he would have to train that way. I dont think he respects Bradley enough to change it up. Have you ever noticed how he throws his combos almost from his stomach? Its just a strange angle. Although its fast it leaves his chin open. I say Bradley has just enough power to ring that bell if he decides to flatten those feet.
I think it may boil down to Khan's stamina at that point...
Bradley wont be dancing outside trying to box. Bradley is coming forward and coming very quickly. I think he will be more frustrating for Khan than Maidana because of his foot speed. We saw when Khan gets pressured he doesnt adjust strategically, he just runs like hell. I cant see him getting a chance to sit down on his jab. Maidana allowed him time to stop and throw. He will have to fight going backwards and thats not his best suit.
Khan has no chance in retreat mode, he must stand his ground, it's not like Bradley is a power puncher anyway.
That is a good assessment.
Bradley needs to maintain good form he can't get sloppy or reckless or he could find himself on the end of something nasty. I have watched him get away with that before but a guy like Khan would probably take advantage especially at range.
If Bradley can drag it in deep water though having took Khan's best shots you would have to like him there. Bradley isn't a one punch guy generally but I am pretty sure he can effect Khan with his best punches, if it is late in the fight that is probably all he needs.
Especially if Khan tires in the later rounds like he did against Maidana, Bradley is relentless.
