Took out Evans Ashira in one round, and it took Abraham 12 rounds to do that.
one of my favorite prospects around right now.
It also took Joe Calzaghe 12 rounds only Joe had to beat him with one hand.
lol really
you ever seen Ashira fight?
if you had you would know they are different and are on somewhat different levels
anyways I do agree it's impressive Lemieux KO'd Ayala easily but I wouldn't really use this as a gauge as to how well he will do against the top level
I meant theyre similiar name wise, and yes Ive seen both of them fight. god forbid I mix up the names of two minor journeyman with similiar names.
Ashira was never that good either.
Lots of guys look great against lesser opposition, but with
Golovkin
Pirog
N'Jikam
Jacobs
Korobov
Geale
Lee
Lemieux
etc
MW is shaping up to be an interesting division in the next few years.
whatever, Elvin Ayala and Evans Ashira, pretty close. and considering that it took someone as hard punching as Abraham 12 rounds to put him away, Lemieux taking him out in 1 is pretty impressive.
Rubio isnt a bum either. This may be a wake up call to people, but the division is pretty medioce. Rubio is a top 20 fighter in it, and is coming off a decent winning streak too.
If youre fighting guys who have fought in title fights and are beating them better than the champions are, then youre not too far off from the top of the division.

and
what in the Sam Hill (not the fighter) are you guys talking about and backing up?
Lemieux never fought Ashira he fought AYALA who while yes AA took 12 to get out of there isn't really the same as Ashira who is actually fairly decent
Lemieux has literally fought nobody and is once again fighting a nobody in Rubio

Rubio is a step up from "nobody."
I mean dude has some decent wins. Sure he lost all the big fights (pavlik, Ouma..) but Rubio is a decent fight for a prospect and he's won 6 in a row since losing to pavlik
you know what you're right Rubio is actually a nice fighter and has racked up some quality wins over his career (including one over Canelo's brother)
but I think Rubio is dinged enough to where he won't be much resistance to Lemieux
I like the kid just want to see his class level step up before we start talking title shot
David Lemieux showed a major flaw fight Purnell Gates. When Gates used his legs Lemieux looked clueless and lost. I agree Lemieux will be a breath of fresh air after he gets tested. Also I still cant gauge his power until he knocks out someone who hasnt been knocked out before and dont bring up Gates cause Gates quit.

That WAS impressive!
I just wanna see him take some shots and see how he reacts. I thinks he looks like a world beater tho

When I look at prospects, the #1 thing I look for is growth fight to fight. beating up bum after bum in the same fashion teaches you nothing.
but I have actually seen improvements in Lemiuex, most of all his right hand. used to be a little wide, now its very compact and sneaky, but still powerful as all hell. took out Camacho jr and Ashira with it. Its a very dangerous weapon now, faster, more accurate and much harder to defend against.
It will be interesting to see how he reacts when someone lands on him in turn. seems like so often the hardest power punchers are the least durable...
he's got a big head, so i think his chin will be great, maybe not concrete, but great
He's one of the few young fighters today who focus on punching through the target
he gets his power from the ground and his hips
reminds me of mike tyson without the head movement and speed
small dude
short reach
thick through the middle
dynamite in his hands
That WAS impressive!
