I would say Arguello, he was great below 140.

JMM would beat Arguello. Arguello did not fight the caliber of fighters that JMM has fought. JMM has never been KO even against bigger and better fighters like Mayweather!!

I like JMM and can appreciate him as one of the best counter punchers Ive ever seen but he is 5'7 with a reach of 67". Arguello was an all time great heavy handed finisher who was 5'10 and with a reach of 72". I'm sorry but even though JMM is one of the beat counter punchers not even he can overcome giving up so much reach. Arguello was at his deadliest punching from outside the box stretching out those long battering jabs and stone heavy straights without ever putting his chin in harms way. Pryor gave him trouble because he came forward very aggresively and matched Arguello's work rate, actually bettered his work rate. JMM needs to suck in his opponent and we saw what happened when PBF stayed far away and pot shot him to death. Arguello wouldn't have pot shot JMM he simply would launched an all out assault of jabs and crosses without ever needing to get within JMM's range. He would KO JMM various times or left his face a bloody mess. Simply no question in my mind.

I say that with all due respect to JMM, he's an ATG in his own right, but Jack was saying JMM was Ricardo Lopez "plus" which I have to completely disagree with. Marquez idolized Finito and it shows on his fighting style, but he's no Finito. He's Ricardo Lopez Plus. Lopez had the same pedigree I'm talking about. You don't see this kind of thing often. JMM is special. And to a slightly lesser degree so is Rafa. Plus? What do you mean? Better than Finito?

Who do you think would have won this at lightweight?? Would of been a great fight imo. Great fantasy fight. I think that fight would have been amazing. Arguello edges Marques in the power department. Marquez edges him in precission and accuracy. Both are/were great technical fighters who could punch but I think Arguello would have KO'd Dynamita. He was longer and bigger, it would have been a war. Arguello took everything Escalera threw at him and still beat him to a bloody pulp, and Escalera was a hell of a puncher.
