If Dawson regains his title at LHWand then moves to HW to fight Wlad, would you be interested in the fight? How do you think it would go? I've seen this possibility mentioned several times already, but IMO Dawson would have no chance against Wlad unless he waited 5 or 6 years until Wlad is 40 and on the decline.
seems like a post started just to take jabs at Dawson because this post makes absolutely NO SENSE!
Dawson would likely move DOWN to 168 instead of moving up, might want to look in the Cruiserweight division for guys that could potential move up to Heavyweight, maybe guys like Marco Huck or Steve Cunningham could move up
but Dawson destroyed Adamek and now Adamek is a Heavyweight Champion, also guys move up when they have no competition in their division, Dawson has at least 2-3 potential big fans available for him: the winner or Hopkins vs Pascal II, Tavoris Cloud and Nathan Cleverly so Dawson still has his hands full with his own division
I must have missed Adamek being a HW champion...

There isn't? How so? You said it's sad that we have to look at lighter weights to look for potential opponents for Wlad, well Holyfield was a CW and Moorer a LHW, so surely that fact was equally sad, no?
Yep, I'm just pointing out how stupid is to say that it's sad to look at lighter weights for potential HWs, when it's been happening during the whole history of boxing.
Bump, still waiting for Sparked_1985 to answer this.
There is not really a comparison there, is there?

Or Spinks beating Holmes
Charles beating Louis
and a handful of others. Though this fight would've carried a lot more weight before Dawson lost to Pascal. Of course a guy that Chad beat is doing pretty well at HW right now.

Dawson, I think he'd have success moving down one division to fight Bute or the winner of Super Six, but HW would be suicide for him. Steve Cunningham and Alexander Frenkel have been mentioned as small HW candidates, but I don't really believe these guys (or any active fighters close to HW range) possess enough special talent to do what Spinks, Holyfield, James Toney, or Roy Jones Jr. did.

The fight could happen, but itd depend on the Adamek fight. If Wlad somehow looked bad against Adamek, won a close decision or something, I could see Dawson being like...I have a better HW body than Adamek, I beat Adamek...I could do it. If Wlad pitches the shutout/knockout against Adamek (like I think he will), Bad Chad will stay below 200 at least until Bad Wlad retires.
Indeed. You must think that Moorer beating Holyfield was particularly disgraceful, am I right?

It's sad that we to look down the divisions, really.
But this is still more interesting than some fights that could be made for Wlad.

Well he certainly would bring a bigger threat than any current heavyweight that isn't haye. That says as much about the divsion as it does dawson.
Says who? I doubt Dawson could beat Chambers, Povetkin, or Thompson to name a few. And in a couple of years guys like Pulev, Helenius and Boytsov (if his hand injuries don't ruin him) will be up there too.
He wouldn't win 1 time out of one-hundred. I don't say that often and usually point out what the underdog brings to the table, but he simply can't do it, imo. Terrible fight until he shows something like the ability to hang with a legit heavy first.
though on paper this might sound absolutely absurd it's probably a much closer match than many of the fights Wlad's been in the last few years (speaking far more to the weakness of the division than dawson's potential at HW.)
chad dawson is about six three
he's got a 76 or 77 inch reach
and he's gigantic for LHW
if he didn't have a gifted athletic body with almost nothing but bone and msucle he would have been a cruiserwieght a long time ago
chad and gary shaw have always entertained the idea of moving eventually up to heavyweight
if chad did make the jump he would need plenty ot time and at elast a few tune up fights at HW
of course i'd still take Wlad via murder
but chad dawson is much bigger than meets the eye
and punches a lot harder than a guy who fights safety first would lead on
If Dawson beat, Pascal, Hopkins Cloud, Then won the cruiserweight title it might be intresting then but thats a big if and it would be a few years off.
NO.
Dawson's not the biggest or strongest guy as a light heavy, he would probably lose all his effectiveness at heavyweight. Wlad would decapitate him.
