From Heavy D aka Dan Rafael: "Lotta chatter in the biz that Pacquiao-Mosley is no lock for HBO PPV & that Arum is serious about possible Showtime PPV deal. That'd be big."
If Pac v Mosley went to Showtime the fight would take a L in the PPV buy in my opinion. When was the last time a fight did over a mill without 24/7. Bob is preaching that this fight will get alotta exposure and will do over a mill if so, Showtime is not the route.
We call this posturing...
is hbo REALLY letting the world's premier boxer / one of its most beloved athletes just walk
no friggin way
arum is getting leverage from the option to go to showtime
Bob Arum is just throwing another hissy fit. This time around, it's because HBO chose Martinez over Cotto for the March date, so he decides to screw them back with the Pac fight.
No one cares what channel a fight airs on.
Its not about who cares about the channel, it about how many people are informed about the fight. More people subscribe and watch HBO the they do Showtime. HBO has a bigger audience and have a bigger budget for promoting sports events.
Really?
I hope not, despite the fact that I myself am not too happy with the fight I feel that only HBO can offer that big fight night feel.
Showtime is good but I just think that an average fight like Mosley/Pacquiao needs the HBO treatment.
Still though to contradict myself I feel that a stream is the way to go:firedevil.
-Kirby-;9981725']It'll do good numbers, Showtime has great production value(Fight Camp). However HBO far surpasses it.
It'll do around 800k because of Pacquiao's fan base and Mosley's name.
I won't order it though, I'm an HBO fan boy.
Never noticed Roy in your sig.. that's a cool pic
