Cotto Mayorga - Probably not a good fight for Cotto??

Mayorga has been shot for years. There's no way he makes it through this fight on his feet. I expect him to be knocked down by body shots on the way to a knockout loss.

Mayorga has an outside chance to win if Cotto gasses out before Mayorga does or gets hurt with a big punch. The fact that this is considered potentially a tough fight for Cotto goes to show how much his hardcore supporters overrate him. Elite fighters shouldn't struggle with a wind mill club fighter like Mayorga, and if Cotto does then I don't know what to say. And that doesn't mean that I'm selling a prime Mayorga short because after all, he did beat Forrest twice. But the second fight was closer and Mayorga never did much outside of that. Prime example of a flash in the pan. Cotto will look bad if he loses or struggles with him. It'll make guys at the top call him out more probably though. Lol.

Look man, I hate talking about Cotto and Margarito already lol, but bottom line is, that you have to be realistic... Has Margarito looked anything like his old sel since after the whole scandal?!! Absolutely not, to make it worse he's been embarrased his last 2 legit fights (yea he beat some bum in Mexico) but he's not the same. When Cotto completely outclasses Marg in the rematch, I want to know where all the comments about Margarito winning cuz he walks through Cottos punches and his relentless preassure and all that bull**** are gonna go, where all the comments will end up are is that he's not the same since the Pac beating, (Mind u Cotto went from the Marg beating and then 1 fight later to the Pac beating) So we'll see what happens... All we can do is wait it out.. This is an easy tune up for Cotto, even if Cotto has looked like **** the last couple of years himself!! Oh and Margs will destroy Cotto again, Just like he Fukked up Cintron twice!!

Everybody knows that Cotto's boxing skills are superior to Mayorgas but going back and watching a couple of Mayorgas fights I can't help but feel that he was able to get that wild right hand to connect with fighters much harder to hit than Cotto. That combined with Cotto's questionable chin and Mayorga being Bigger and 3" more reach I'm thinking Cotto is going to have to be very very patient and not be in there mixing it up in the early rounds. Just my opinion "Punchers chance" is a cliched term. Sometimes it's true, but usually it means a guy isn't going to win short of getting extremely lucky. Mayorga isn't an elite fighter who's strongest attribute is his power, he's just a crude slugger with a name.

Yea I can't for the life of me understand why people would think about criticizing this fight!!! Whoever counts Mayorga out is an idiot bottom line... I don't think Cotto can KO Mayorga IMO, but I think it'll go to a clear UD... Yea Mayorga had some losses to bums early in his career, but once he got established and got some more experience, look at the people who he lost to... This is gonna b a good fight, don't care what anybody says.... it doesn't matter because this fight does nothing for cotto besides earn a paycheck. if cotto wins= he was suppose to because mayorga is washed up and hasn't won a meaningful fight in years. if cotto loses= he stands a chance at ruining whatever he has left of a career by losing to a washed up has been. cotto has everything to lose and nothing to gain in this fight. he's possibly risking his career by fighting a washed up has been who hasn't done anything in this sport for years. if cotto loses its gonna be hard for people to care to see another cotto fight.

Why do people still choose to call Cotto's chin "questionable"? being dropped by only Torres and Pacquiao with punches, after fighting guys like Mosley, Clottey, Margarito, Judah, and of course Malignaggi!!! I'm just saying... Without knowing how prepared Mayorga will be or if hes a spent fighter , go back and watch the Mayorga De lahoya fight. He tagged Oscar with that right hand pretty consistently until he tired out. Oscar had the reach to keep him off while Cotto doesn't. Mayorga is sloppy, fast and he hits pretty hard, That's how he took the title from Vernon... It may end in a stoppage by Cotto but gonna be a nervous fight for all his fans.

The only problem I have with this fight is the ppv,other than that,it's a telling fight on the part of Cotto,if he can't beat Mayorga,there will be no Margarito on the next stop,But if Cotto beats them both,I will need a Pacman rematch with no weight stipulations. Don't have a problem with the ppv, just stream it.... This is a gonna b a big year Cotto bro, he'll stop Mayorga, stop Marg, and we'll see what happens next man, but in all honesty i don't think he can beat Pac, thats just being real... He's wayy too busy man, its one thing being busy but being busy and accurate, working from angles with both hands, it's just too much..
