How many people here have sparred, worked out at a boxing gym, or competed? I work at a gym almost everyday of the week and spar every now and then. Anybody else?

i join boxing club in highschool, i have fought several time. but rightnow i weight almost 180 lbs and i only 5.56
lol all i've got is some self training and backyard boxing. the nearest gym is over an hour away. i used to shadowbox an hour a day for like 5-6 months. i've since started powerlifting so it's really unlikely i'll ever start am boxing now.
Is that you in your sig?
I boxed for three years (just trained, and sparred only maybe just over a dozen times)...
I always got called out to spare though...I guess it had some thing to do with me being 5'2-248...
I box/help train others at an amateur level. I am also a licensed chief second in the pro corner. I've been on a hiatus since July due to going back to school. Still stay in shape and try to maintain some of my technique. Hope to get back soon.

Once knocked a dude out who kept his chin up, with headgear.
Was an amateur in my late teens... Just not dedicated enough to keep at it and give up drinking/partying/women.
Mmmmmm, drinking/partying/women...
Currently boxing at amateur level, looking to get my first fight under my belt this year. Going to be a war, can't wait to get in there! I love the adrenline that boxing gives you, and the workouts!
I trained from the age of eight but the gym closed down when I was twelve. I lived in a small town with no other boxing gyms so that was my boxing career over before it ever began. I am now 31 and have been training for a couple of years in London and was given the opportunity to teach beginners classes. I still like to spar and enjoy the atmosphere at the gym but that's it, boxing is a young mans game.
i do---i'm a menace in that ring--i was trained on the marvin hagler/floyd mayweather jr/roy jones type of training, but my dad kept me with floyd's style some because i'm a southpaw--he liked me to change my stance 2 righty but i love being southpaw becuase there really aren't too many of us if you think about it---
i have my own version of floyd/roy/and marvin's styles but it is very polished and i pride myself on staying sharp and having great balance and timing because i spar with bigger guys--i have always sparred with bigger guys to polish up my defense against them--that way i don't have to focus primarily on one thing in camp--
i throw sharp combos but i love to move around the ring and trap my oppnents to come to me so i can take their distance from them---that's how i won all of my fights-lol
it's just mind over matter if you ask me-lol
What part of texas you stay in
