Did RING really pick Pacquiao as FOTY for 2010?

I thought it was a great fight and both fighters showed a ton of heart. It was my choice.

It would be pretty shocking on a couple levels if the Ring did that, but as Fischer said that was just the fan voting. The Ring editorial board I think would be above a popularity contest but then again if they are losing money and need to sell more magazines (or get more hits) a controversial pick of an extremely popular fighter usually doesn't hurt in those regards.

Poor Sergio didn’t have a chance. But don’t worry I’m confident that THE RING’s Editorial Board will make the right choice for Fighter of the Year and the middleweight champ of the world will receive the 2010 honor.

Just look at UFC's top 2 P4P (Silva and GSP) and compare em to the other two d!ckheds whp are top 2 P4P in boxing (pac and floyd). I guess UD's over non champion, non P4P fighter Joshua Clottey & non champion, non P4P fighter, non top 10 ranked Antonio Margarito is better than a UD over WBC/WBO/Ring Middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik and a 2nd round KO of then top 3 P4P Paul Williams.

Shocking decision...Maravilla deserves recognition, in the future kids may have looked up FOTY 2010 saw his name and thought whos this guy let me check his fights out and he'd gain appreciation, ****s gettin boring...Much as I like Pacaquiao he just needs to fight a couple times and he's won the award.

I don't think so. I'm following the news in the Ring's website, there weren't any signs that Pacquiao was selected as FOTY, only fan polls.
