After re watching the fight countless time, I have concluded that Floyd was in no way, shape, or form about to be knocked out. Stunned? Yes. Wobbled? Sure. It just really irks me to hear such comments as "Mosley almost knocked Floyd out" or "Floyd was about to be KO'd". In reality, Floyd was momentarily stunned twice but his body language clearly indicates he was in no serious danger. At the time I even felt like he was close to getting stopped, but that was just the initial shock of seeing Floyd getting connected so cleanly with such hard shots. It's also worth noting that Floyd was not close to getting knocked down so to say he was on the verge of getting KO'd is ridiculous. Floyd even countered with some nice shots in the mist of it all and was conscious enough break up Shane's momentum.
If I were U ts,i'd seriously stop downplaying it & realize it for what it was, there aren't many currently active welterweights that would have stayed on their feet after shots like that!!That really shows how strong willed Floyd is(& I don't even care for him)!!
Except for weight drained Margz x 8 rounds :boxing:
_original_ you're obviously some fvcking nerd who worships Floyd. He got stunned/dazed and looked dishevelled, let his defences down for a few seconds. Definately was in big danger.
And you're obviously a Floyd hater with minimal boxing insight, I suggest you go watch the round again and come back here with real boxing knowledge not little kid insults.
Mosley didn't almost knock out floyd in the second,
But he did Gas himself out trying to.
Shane didn't really recover until the 11th round.
Correct.
If you watch the HBO vid on Youtube, after the 2nd time he was stunned in the round, Floyd even sticks his tounge out at Mosley, and fires back. He was wobbled, this is true. He recovered in the matter of 10 secs though. The first shot, he was able to hold perfectly, and avoid Shane's other shots. He wasn't in serious trouble because of his actions immediately following. Too much of these two: ring smarts and recuperative ability. He took two good shots, was stunned on one, legs buckled on the second, but he recovered in the blink of an eye, there's the summary. Almost being KO'd is going too far.
Floyd held on for his life for a reason.
he was stunned--that's it--he went to the ropes against chop chop and judah and grabbed them also--not because he was in real danger--of course he was rocked, but he fought back in the same round--had he just held on and not fought back, then i'd see your point--assuming that was the point you were making-lol

once again pullcounter comes in and gives his 2 cent insight--which consists of nothing more than false logic and bullsh1t insults-nothing of merit--welcome back foolcounter--lol
these days, if you get even slightly wobbled, you were "almost ko'd"
Froch got wobbled slightly by Dirrell in their fight and according to some on here was one step away from being put in a coma
:lol1::fing02:
Im a diehard Floyd fan and he was hurt bigtime.
Nah, not really. Big time is not being able to come back and win the rest of the round straight after. Being hurt big time, without getting knocked down, is losing the whole round badly, plus maybe the next couple cause you're still out of it etc. Floyd was briefly wobbled, came straight back and won the rest of the round. It's just such a juxtaposition to his usual thing of hardly even being hit, let alone hurt.
Mosley was hurt big time against Forrest. That's being hurt big time.
Pretty Boy grabbed the arm of Shane Mosley, a clear sign that indeed he got wobbled! I was wondering if it was Pacman unleasing his combos with great speed, then, for sure there could be a Knock downs!
Here is an angle of the 2nd Punch that is never really shown, within seconds Mayweather smiles and shakes his head. People exaggerate how hurt he was.

Thank you for also pointing that out, I did notice that too. And I'm glad some people here agree with me. And some seem to misunderstand my thread, I'm not trying to downplay anything especially not his heart. Floyd is obviously my favorite fighter but I'm not going to sit here and say he was almost KO'd and came back somehow. That 2nd round is more of a testament to Floyd's awesome composure than anything. The guy might be another thing outside that ring, but inside he's fukking Dr Manhattan from Watchmen. The guy is a genius and his only focus is to win, just watch the Floyd-Zab fight in the 10 round to see how good of a composure Floyd has. The guy has only goal and that's to win inside that ring.
Had Floyd not hung on like he did, he would have gotten dropped. Floyd played it safe and it paid off. Had he tried to trade, he would likely have an l on his record now.yes, maybe, but why would he trade anyway? what he did was smart-- he never lost his balance--even while trying to duck the 2nd punch by shane--shane was throwing punches at floyd after he landed the first shot and they were being blocked easily--he just timed floyd's left hook perfectly with the 2nd shot, and floyd threw the shot while trying to throw it and then immediately duck the returning shot by shane but didn't do it fast enough--shane had his eyes closed once again throwing it-lol
it was a well timed shot buy shane--when floyd clinched and grabbed shane--he looked stronger than shane--shane couldn't really do anything after the first shot--he looked confused until he slowed down and got his composure back to land that 2nd shot--that was a great call by shane, but floyd is stronger than you think--it was also a shot to his temple which is much worst imo than the chin or the cheek or the jaw---and floyd didn't see it comingn fast enough to avoid it--great shots by shane, but not good enough--floyd knew what to do right away--
it's obvious floyd was just stunned--and that's it--he recovered so fast and went on to dominate the rest of the round after the 2nd punch--i mean, he took over the fight at the end of round 2 all the way to the last round--his leg buckled on the 2nd punch but he was already going down to duck the punch which mosley timed perfect-lol
so it made it look like he was about to go down, but his balance is so sharp, even while being hit--the same thing happened with hatton, when hatton stepped on floyd's foot and floyd lost his footing yet stayed on his feet---when judah nailed floyd in round 2, and floyd touched the canvas, he was going for a body shot--floyd has to be in a lowered position to have any chance of going down---i have never seen him close to being knocked down while standing upright-never--from a punch only--not someone stepping on his damn feet like hatton did and judah did also--
i'm not concerned about who said shane almost knocked floyd down and out--those jackasses will say anything to bash floyd--corley stunned floyd also and floyd dominated the rest of the round--just like he did with shane--it was nothing new to me-lol
